A New Technique for High Contrast Development in Rapid Processing
The Journal of Photographic Science, 1984AbstractA rapid developing system with a high contrast comparable to that of the lith system is described. The mechanism of the high contrast development has been investigated by using a model system. It has been found that a considerable amount of semiquinone is formed in a high pH and high-sulphite developer and a specific retardation effect by some ...

An Adaptive and Non Linear Technique for Enhancement of Extremely High Contrast Images
35th IEEE Applied Imagery and Pattern Recognition Workshop (AIPR'06), 2006In night time surveillance, there is a possibility of having extremely bright and dark regions in some image frames of a video sequence. A novel non linear image enhancement algorithm for digital images captured under such extremely non-uniform lighting conditions is proposed in this paper. The new technique constitutes three processes viz.

TECHNIQUE FOR SELECTIVE MICROANGIOGRAPHY OF SKIN FLAPS WITH HIGH CONTRAST AND FINE DETAIL
Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery, 2000The technical factors of microangiography were studied, and the authors found that the main limiting factors in resolution were the injection pressure of the contrast medium and the thickness of the materials. A gentle manual hand pressure injection, with the aid of visual monitoring under the operating microscope, were keys to obtaining beautiful ...

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2017
An extended Computed Tomography (CT) technique with a priori information based on Phillips-Tikhonov regularization has been developed to handle a high-contrast radiation distribution, which can result in large reconstruction errors in the region where radiation intensity is low, with few line of sight (LOS) data.

High contrast internal and external coronagraph masks produced by various techniques
SPIE Proceedings, 2013Masks for high contrast internal and external coronagraphic imaging require a variety of masks depending on different architectures to suppress star light. Various fabrication technologies are required to address a wide range of needs including gradient amplitude transmission, tunable phase profiles, ultra-low reflectivity, precise small scale features,

22.3: High‐Definition Projection Screen: Enhancing Technique of Contrast and Fineness
SID Symposium Digest of Technical Papers, 2003Abstract A novel high‐definition rear projection screen (Blue Ocean™ screen, Nitto Jushi Kogyo, Co., Ltd.) has been developed. Uniformity of brightness and color can be achieved with no lens elements by controlling the multiple light scattering. The enhancing technique of contrast and fineness in ambient light has been demonstrated in

Radial MRI techniques for obtaining motion-insensitive high-resolution images with variable contrast
Proceedings IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging, 2003The advantages of multi-shot radial fast spin-echo (RAD-FSE) MRI methods over conventional Fourier transformed (FT) MRI methods for obtaining high-resolution images with minimal motion- and flow-induced artifact are presented. The utility of post-processing methods used to obtain images with different T2-weighted contrast as well as T2 maps from a ...

Iodine-containing contrast agents are currently used for angiography. However, due to the relatively low atomic number of iodine, imaging must be performed with a relatively low tube voltage. Gadolinium has been used for several years as a contrast agent in MRI with low adverse side effects.

High-contrast active cavitation imaging technique based on multiple bubble wavelet transform
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2016In this study, a unique method that combines the ultrafast active cavitation imaging technique with multiple bubble wavelet transform (MBWT) for improving cavitation detection contrast was presented. The bubble wavelet was constructed by the modified Keller–Miksis equation that considered the mutual effect among bubbles.

A single-camera high dynamic range technique by using contrast enhancement and exposure control
Signal and Information Processing Association Annual Summit and Conference (APSIPA), 2014 Asia-Pacific, 2014This paper presents a single-camera HDR imaging algorithm, which is able to solve all the extreme conditions by controlling the exposure time to get a well-exposed image and then enhancing it. The proposed system is divided into two parts, i.e. single-image HDR imaging technique and an exposure control method.
