Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Growth of Ti-C nanocomposite films by reactive high power impulse magnetron sputtering under industrial conditions

open access: yesSurface and Coatings Technology, 2012
Titanium carbide (TiC) films were deposited employing high power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS) and direct current magnetron sputtering (DCMS) in an Ar-C2H2 atmosphere of various composition ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Electrical properties of dry soil under high impulse currents [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
To date, no publication has been made on dry soil characteristics under high impulse current conditions. This is because, no conduction current was detected in the dry soil, which may be due to high bulk resistance in the dry soil, limitations in the ...

Effect of Enhancement Material on the Performance of Ground Electrodes Under Impulse Conditions

open access: yesIEEE Access
Among the factors that affect the soil resistivity is the chemical content in soil, where the ionic conduction is expectedly increased and the soil resistivity is reduced.

"Effects of electrohydroimpulse discharges on the crushing of the natural mineral quartz "

open access: yesEurasian Physical Technical Journal, 2019
Electro-hydro-impulse (high-current discharge in water) also belongs to the technologies using strong impulse currents. With a powerful pulsed electric discharge between the electrodes placed in the liquid, an electro-hydraulic effect occurs.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

[2+2] and [2+1] cycloaddition of myrcene for synthesis of highly strained bio-fuels with high density and high impulse

open access: yesEnergetic Materials Frontiers
Developing bio-fuels provides a sustainable strategy to reduce the dependence on finite fossil fuels. But biomass-based fuel molecules usually lack strained structure, resulting in undesirable density and impulse for aerospace applications.

MIRaGe: Multichannel Database Of Room Impulse Responses Measured On High-Resolution Cube-Shaped Grid In Multiple Acoustic Conditions

open access: yesCoRR, 2019
We introduce a database of multi-channel recordings performed in an acoustic lab with adjustable reverberation time. The recordings provide information about room impulse responses (RIR) for various positions of a loudspeaker. In particular, the main positions correspond to 4104 vertices of a cube-shaped dense grid within a 46x36x32 cm volume.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.
