High mobility group box 1 inhibition by BoxA attenuates ovalbumin-induced allergic rhinitis in mice
This study was designed to evaluate the effects of BoxA on allergic rhinitis (AR). Ovalbumin (OVA)-induced AR mice model was employed and BoxA was administered to AR mice.

Novel role of PKR in inflammasome activation and HMGB1 release [PDF]
The inflammasome regulates release of caspase activation-dependent cytokines, including IL-1β, IL-18, and high-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1)1-5. During the course of studying HMGB1 release mechanisms, we discovered an important role of double-stranded RNA

High-mobility group box 1 is a novel deacetylation target of Sirtuin1 [PDF]
High-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) undergoes acetylation, nuclear-to-cytoplasmic translocation, and release from stressed kidneys, unleashing a signaling cascade of events leading to systemic inflammation. Here, we tested whether the deacetylase activity of Sirtuin1 (SIRT1) participates in regulating nuclear retention of HMGB1 to ultimately modulate ...

Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Remote Monitoring in Myasthenia Gravis: Exploring Symptom Variability
ABSTRACT Background Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a rare, autoimmune disorder characterized by fluctuating muscle weakness and potential life‐threatening crises. While continuous specialized care is essential, access barriers often delay timely interventions. To address this, we developed MyaLink, a telemedical platform for MG patients.

High mobility group box 1 protein (HMGB1) stimulates the nuclear accumulation of p53
p53 is usually regarded as a tumour suppressor protein but its constant activation may result in pro-tumorigenic inflammation. The activation of p53 can be provoked by an increase in its concentration as a result of high level transcription, by ...

Potentiation of NMDA receptor-dependent cell responses by extracellular high mobility group box 1 protein. [PDF]
BackgroundExtracellular high mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) protein can operate in a synergistic fashion with different signal molecules promoting an increase of cell Ca(2+) influx.

B Cell Activation in Insulin Resistance and Obesity [PDF]
Our group has demonstrated that inflammatory diseases such as type 2 diabetes (DM), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and periodontal disease (PD) are associated with altered B cell function that may contribute to disease pathogenesis. B cells were found
