Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

A Higher-Order Iterative Path Ordering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The higher-order recursive path ordering ( HORPO ) defined by Jouannaud and Rubio provides a method to prove termination of higher-order rewriting. We present an iterative version of HORPO by means of an auxiliary term rewriting system, following an approach originally due to Bergstra and Klop.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Genetic algorithm optimization for blind channel identification with higher order cumulant fitting

open access: yes, 1997
—An important family of blind equalization algorithms identify a communication channel model based on fitting higher order cumulants, which poses a nonlinear optimization prob-lem.

Superpixel Optimization Using Higher Order Energy

open access: yes, 2016
A novel superpixel extraction algorithm using a higher order energy optimization framework is proposed in this paper. We first adopt the k-means clustering technique to quickly get an initial superpixel result.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Higher-Order CIS Codes

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2014
We introduce {\bf complementary information set codes} of higher-order. A binary linear code of length $tk$ and dimension $k$ is called a complementary information set code of order $t$ ($t$-CIS code for short) if it has $t$ pairwise disjoint information sets. The duals of such codes permit to reduce the cost of masking cryptographic algorithms against

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Validating and Animating Higher-Order Recursive Functions in B

open access: yes, 2007
ProB is an animation and model checking tool for the B Method, which can deal with many interesting specifications. Some specifications, however, contain complicated functions which cannot be represented explicitly by a tool.

Existence of periodic solutions for higher-order nonlinear difference equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2016
In this article, we study a higher-order nonlinear difference equation. By using critical point theory, we establish sufficient conditions for the existence of periodic solutions.
