The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

A Seventh-Order Scheme for Computing the Generalized Drazin Inverse

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
One of the most important generalized inverses is the Drazin inverse, which is defined for square matrices having an index. The objective of this work is to investigate and present a computational tool in the form of an iterative method for computing ...

Higher Order Tangent Bundles [PDF]

open access: yesMediterranean Journal of Mathematics, 2016
The tangent bundle $T^kM$ of order $k$, of a smooth Banach manifold $M$ consists of all equivalent classes of curves that agree up to their accelerations of order $k$. For a Banach manifold $M$ and a natural number $k$ first we determine a smooth manifold structure on $T^kM$ which also offers a fiber bundle structure for $( _k,T^kM,M)$.

Higher order Birkhoff averages [PDF]

open access: yesDynamical Systems, 2009
There are well-known examples of dynamical systems for which the Birkhoff averages with respect to a given observable along some or all of the orbits do not converge. It has been suggested that such orbits could be classified using higher order averages. In the case of a bounded observable, we show that a classical result of G.H.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

A Fast Derivative-Free Iteration Scheme for Nonlinear Systems and Integral Equations

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
Derivative-free schemes are a class of competitive methods since they are one remedy in cases at which the computation of the Jacobian or higher order derivatives of multi-dimensional functions is difficult.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Computing a family of probabilistic numbers in terms of probabilistic Stirling numbers of the second kind

open access: yesApplied Mathematics in Science and Engineering
In this paper, we introduce the probabilistic Bernoulli numbers, Cauchy numbers, and Euler numbers of order α associated with the random variable Y, utilizing the generating function approach.

On the oscillatory behavior of even order neutral delay dynamic equations on time-scales

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2012
We establish some new criteria for the oscillation of the even order neutral dynamic equation \begin{equation*} \left( a(t)\left( \left( x(t)-p(t)x(\tau (t))\right) ^{\Delta^{n-1}}\right) ^{\alpha }\right) ^{\Delta }+q(t)\left( x^{\sigma}(g(t))\right) ^{\
