Carbon Dots for Cancer Theranostics: Synthesis Strategies, Luminescence Properties, and Advances in Bioimaging‐Guided Diagnosis and Therapy

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Lighting up the path to precision oncology: This review comprehensively summarizes the rational design of carbon dots (CDs), elucidating how core size, surface chemistry, and heteroatom doping dictate their luminescence mechanisms. Special emphasis is placed on engineering NIR‐II emissive CDs for deep‐tissue imaging.

A Ménage à trois: NLRC5, immunity, and metabolism

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
The nucleotide-binding and oligomerization domain-like receptors (NLRs) NLR family CARD domain-containing protein 5 (NLRC5) and Class II Major Histocompatibility Complex Transactivator (CIITA) are transcriptional regulators of major histocompatibility ...

T-cells and transplantation tolerance in Thymectomised Xenopus implanted with foreign thymus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
This thesis investigates the expression of a T-cell differentiation antigen, (XTLA- 1), in various strains and species of Xenopus, and demonstrates the effect of early-thymectomy, (by microcautery), on XTLA-1 expression.

Modulation of class II histocompatibility antigen expression by maternal serum.

open access: yesDisease markers, 1991
Human maternal serum has been shown to down-regulate the expression of MHC class II antigen in three distinct circumstances. Cord blood mononuclear cells, incubated in the mother's own serum, showed significant modulation of class II antigen expression. This was also the case for unrelated donor lymphocytes, incubated in pooled maternal serum.

Flow cytometry‐based monitoring of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells: Reagent selection, assay design, and clinical utility

open access: yesCytometry Part B: Clinical Cytometry, EarlyView.
Abstract Accurate quantification of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells is essential for monitoring post‐infusion CART expansion and persistence and for real‐time clinical decision‐making. Multiparameter flow cytometry (MFC) enables rapid, live‐cell detection with absolute quantification and concurrent immunophenotypic characterization. This review

RORγt‐APCs: The New Masters of Oral Tolerance

open access: yesBarrier Immunity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Oral tolerance is defined by the hypo‐responsiveness of our body to fed antigens, and its failure can lead to immune‐mediated diseases, such as allergy, chronic inflammation and autoimmune diseases. Decades of research have demonstrated that antigen‐presenting cells (APCs) promote oral tolerance by inducing regulatory T cells (Tregs) and/or ...

Novel Organelle‐Based Intracellular Immunity With Mechanistic and Therapeutic Implications

open access: yesBarrier Immunity, EarlyView.
A conceptual framework illustrating how PAMPs/DAMPs initiate barrier, innate, adaptive, and intracellular immune responses, with organelle‐based intracellular immunity serving as a central integrator linking metabolism, inflammatory signaling, and therapeutic interventions to restore immune homeostasis.

Expression of Class I and Class II major histocompatibility complex antigens on epithelial cells in recurrent aphthous stomatitis

open access: yes, 1986
The concept of an immunopathogenesis in the establishment and progression of the recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS) lesion is well accepted. In this study the expression of Class I and Class II major histocompatibility complex (MHC) antigens on the ...

Composition of allogeneic equine orthobiologics and their repeated intra‐articular administrations

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Orthobiologics such as platelet‐rich plasma (PRP) and alpha‐2‐macroglobulin (A2MG) are increasingly used for equine musculoskeletal injuries. However, their composition and safety with repeated allogeneic intra‐articular administration remain poorly investigated.

In vitro expression of major histocompatibility class I and class II antigens by conditionally immortalized murine neural stem cells

open access: yes, 2003
The expression of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) antigens on the surface of cells is intimately linked to in vivo graft survival. It has been previously shown that the conditionally immortalized temperature-sensitive Maudsley hippocampal clone 36
