Clinical‐grade HLA‐homozygous iPSC‐derived neural precursor cells restore motor function, rebuild striatal circuitry and reduce neuroinflammation in QA‐lesioned rats. These findings demonstrate robust neuronal replacement and microenvironment modulation, supporting their potential as a regenerative therapy for Huntington's disease.

Autoimmunity and Periodontitis
In a microbe‐driven inflammatory environment, peptidyl‐arginine deiminase (PAD) enzymes from neutrophils and Porphyromonas gingivalis citrullinate both microbial and self‐antigens. B cell presentation of citrullinated or self‐mimicking epitopes activates T cells that assist B cells in antibody isotype switching, affinity maturation, epitope spreading ...

Objective To determine the association between endoplasmic reticulum aminopeptidase (ERAP)1 and ERAP2 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and human leukocyte antigens (HLA)-B27+ or HLA-B15+ patients with spondyloarthritis (SpA).Methods 104 patients ...

Homozygosity For HLA‐B27 [PDF]
AbstractThe effect of homozygosity for HLA‐B27 on the clinical expression of rheumatic disease was studied in two families. The 1 homozygous patient in each of two families demonstrated extraordinarily severe peripheral and axial arthritis compared to other affected heterozygous relatives.

ABSTRACT The etiology of ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is complex and not yet fully understood. Interleukin‐6 (IL‐6), vitamin D and the vitamin D receptor (VDR) play an important role in modulating immune response, and Torque teno virus is considered a marker of immune status. This case–control study aimed to investigate the predisposition to AS. A total

CHOP-mediated IL-23 overexpression does not drive colitis in experimental spondyloarthritis
HLA-B27 is a major risk factor for spondyloarthritis (SpA), yet the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. HLA-B27 misfolding-induced IL-23, which is mediated by endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress has been hypothesized to drive SpA pathogenesis. Expression

ObjectivesHuman leucocyte antigen B27 (HLA-B27) is an important biomarker for ankylosing spondylitis (AS). However, delay in the diagnosis of AS is still common in clinical practice.

Objective Juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM) is a rare childhood inflammatory myopathy, whereas spondyloarthritis (SpA) is an inflammatory arthropathy characterized by enthesitis and peripheral or axial involvement. We describe a series of patients diagnosed with JDM in childhood who later fulfilled classification criteria for SpA, a sequential phenotype ...

HLA-B27 modulates intracellular growth of Salmonella pathogenicity island 2 mutants and production of cytokines in infected monocytic U937 cells. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis PT4 KS8822/88 replicates rapidly in HLA-B27-transfected human monocytic U937 cells. In this process, Salmonella pathogenicity island 2 (SPI-2) genes play a crucial role.
