Replication of the association of HLA-B7 with Alzheimer's disease: a role for homozygosity?

open access: yes, 2006
Background: There are reasons to expect an association with Alzheimer's disease (AD) within the HLA region. The HLA-B & C genes have, however, been relatively understudied.

The HLA-DRA*0102 allele: correct nucleotide sequence and associated HLA haplotypes

open access: yes, 2002
Here we correct the nucleotide sequence of a single known variant of the HLA-DRA gene. We show that the coding regions of the HLA-DRA*0101 and HLA-DRA*0102 alleles do not differ at two codons as reported previously, but only in codon 217.

Discovery of the HLA-DQB1*06:465 allele, a variant of HLA-DQB1*06:04:01:01

open access: yes
HLA-DQB1*06:465 differs from HLA-DQB1*06:04:01:01 by a non-synonymous nucleotide substitution in codon ...

Allodeterminants and evolution of a novel HLA-B5 CREG antigen, HLA-B SNA

open access: yes, 1990
A novel HLA-B5 CREG gene, HLA-B SNA was cloned and the primary structure was determined. The sequence data showed that HLA-B SNA was identical to HLA-B51 except the α1 domain in which one amino acid substitution at residue 74 and 5 amino acid ...

Contributions of vitamin D response elements and HLA promoters to multiple sclerosis risk

open access: yes, 2012
Objective: The identification of a vitamin D-responsive (VDRE) motif within the HLA-DRB1*15:01 promoter region provides an attractive explanation for the combined effects of HLA-DR inheritance and vitamin D exposure on multiple sclerosis (MS) risk.

Characterisation of HLA-specific antibodies [PDF]

open access: yes
A successful kidney transplant is the best treatment for established renal failure, yet around 300 patients per annum are denied transplants because they have antibodies, most notably directed against donor HLA or ABO in their blood, which have the ...

HLA Antigen Profile Differences in Patients with SCC (Squamous Cell Carcinoma) In-Situ /Actinic Keratosis and Invasive SCC: Is There a Genetic Succeptibility for Invasive SCC Development?

open access: yesEurasian Journal of Medicine, 2019
Objective: Actinic keratoses (AK) are proliferation of neoplastic keratinocytes confined to the epidermis induced by damaging solar ultraviolet radiation (UVR).

HLA high performance and real-time simulation studies with CERTI [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Our work takes place in the context of the HLA standard and its application in real-time systems context. Indeed, current HLA standard is inadequate for taking into consideration the different constraints involved in real-time computer systems.
