Antigenic heterogeneity of human cytotrophoblast and evidence for the transient expression of MHC class I antigens distinct from HLA-G

Placenta, 1993
Expression of MHC class I antigens on trophoblast populations in first trimester human chorionic villous tissue was assessed by immunohistology. Antibodies used were W6/32 which recognizes a non-polymorphic framework determinant of HLA- A, -B, -C, MHM5 specific for HLA-B, C and 4E and B23.1 which are specific for HLA-B.

A functional role for soluble HLA-G antigens in immune modulation mediated by mesenchymal stromal cells

Cytotherapy, 2008
It has been suggested that soluble factors produced by bone marrow (BM) mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC) play a fundamental role in mediating immune modulation. HLA-G antigens (Ag) are major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class Ib molecules characterized by a limited polymorphism and a splicing mechanism that regulates the production of membrane-bound

Expression of Human Leukocyte Antigen G (HLA-G) Correlates with Poor Prognosis in Gastric Carcinoma

Annals of Surgical Oncology, 2007
We had previously demonstrated that human leukocyte antigen G (HLA-G) was expressed in a majority of primary colorectal carcinomas and that the detection of HLA-G expression had a strong and independent prognostic value for that cancer. Currently, we investigate whether or not HLA-G is also expressed in patients with gastric carcinoma and whether the ...

The expression of human leukocyte antigen G (HLA-G) is associated with sacroiliitis stages of ankylosing spondylitis

Immunology Letters, 2013
Recent studies have demonstrated that human leukocyte antigen G (HLA-G) may play an important role in autoimmune diseases. The present study is to investigate whether or not HLA-G is associated with sacroiliitis stages of ankylosing spondylitis (AS), a systemic autoimmune disease.

Muscle fibers in inflammatory myopathies and cultured myoblasts express the nonclassical major histocompatibility antigen HLA-G

Annals of Neurology, 2000
We demonstrate that HLA-G, a nonclassical major histocompatibility complex class I antigen, is expressed in muscle fibers in various inflammatory myopathies. Further, interferon-gamma induces surface expression and upregulation of mRNA transcripts corresponding to different isoforms of HLA-G in myoblasts cultured from control subjects and patients. HLA-

No expression of human leukocyte antigen G (HLA-G) in colorectal cancer cells.

Journal of the Medical Association of Thailand = Chotmaihet thangphaet, 2004
Although there is a specific antitumor immune response in the body, colorectal cancer cells progressively develop. This fact indicated that the cancer cells could have a variety of mechanisms to evade or escape the immune system. HLA-G is identified to inhibit the recognition of NK-cell in various kinds of cancers.
