Imaging characteristics of a volume holographic lens

SPIE Proceedings, 2009
A volume holographic grating lens can reconstruct the three-dimensional information by conducting multiple optical slicing of an object based on Bragg selectivity of the volume holographic grating. In this paper, we employ the point-spread function of volume holographic imaging system to theoretically analyze its imaging resolution.

The resolution characteristics of volume holographic lens

2009 Conference on Lasers & Electro Optics & The Pacific Rim Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2009
We introduce two kinds of typical volume holographic gratings into the imaging system respectively, and discuss their resolution characteristics in lateral and longitudinal defocus condition to improve the image quality.

Design of a relay lens with telecentricity in a holographic recording system

Applied Optics, 2009
We reveal a doubly telecentric Fourier 4f relay for a holographic recording system. These lenses are made of Zeonex and their aspherical surfaces were formed by a diamond-turning machining. The total stroke of the system is 244.69 mm, including six lenses.

Astigmatism free holographic lens elements

Optics Communications, 1977
Abstract By applying the s and t formula for a hologram lens on a curved surface the conditions which must be satisfied for astigmatism free imagery are derived. It is shown that for hologram lenses formed on surfaces which are conic sections or on a plane surface, astigmatism free imagery can be obtained for extended objects.

Lens Designs for Page-Based Holographic Storage Systems

Optical Data Storage, 2007
An aspherical-meniscus and air-spaced-spherics are identified as minimum aberration configurations for page-based holographic recordings. Air-spaced-apsherics attain imaging NA’s of 0.7 for holographic recording only, and of 0.45 for a combination of holographic and surface recording.

Objective Lens for Holographic Worm Drives

International Symposium on Optical Memory and Optical Data Storage, 2005
A generalization of the objective lens for optical disk storages is proposed to accommodate holographic data storage that uses two beams. Feasibility tests by numerical and experimental studies are presented.

Single Lens Holographic Imaging

2017
Metasurface phase masks offer a new way of imaging in that the lens sizes are orders of magnitude smaller and allow for batch fabrication of a large number of miniature lenses. Unfortunately, current metasurface lens technology cannot simultaneously overcome the issues of image distortion for objects far from the optical axis and chromatic aberrations.

The holographic/diffractive bifocal contact lens

International Contact Lens Clinic, 1989
Abstract Presently, practitioners are somewhat limited in the available options for correction of presbyopia with contact lenses. Neither the form of contact lens design (segmented, aspheric, or concentric) or fitting scheme (such as monovision) have high enough success to dominate the market. To meet this growing demand, a new holographic/diffractive

Improvement of printing efficiency in holographic stereogram printing with the combination of a field lens and holographic diffuser

Applied Optics, 2018
In this paper, we use a field lens and a holographic diffuser together to improve the printing efficiency of a holographic stereogram printing system based on the effective perspective images' segmentation and mosaicking method. The light rays' regulation function of the field lens and the modulation function of the holographic diffuser are analyzed ...

Holographic Lens Synthesis with Optical Fibers

Topical Meeting on Holography, 1986
Conventional lenses seldom have f-numbers below the value of 1.0 for well-known reasons. However, a holographic optical elements that behaves as a lense can be constructed so that its focal length is arbitrarily small relative to its aperture.
