Review of millimeter‐wave and terahertz near‐field synthetic aperture radar imaging technology

open access: yesInfoScience, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper comprehensively reviews the development of millimeter‐wave (MMW) and terahertz (THz) near‐field imaging technologies, with an emphasis on the state of synthetic aperture radar (SAR)‐based imaging technologies. Near‐field imaging technologies are categorized into passive and active imaging modes, among which active imaging is favored

Real-time digital holographic microscopy observable in multi-view and multi-resolution

open access: yes, 2010
We propose a real-time digital holographic microscopy, that enables simultaneous multiple reconstructed images with arbitrary resolution, depth and positions, using Shifted-Fresnel diffraction instead of Fresnel diffraction.

Bio‐inspired nanophotonics: Structural color, chirality, and resonance metasurfaces

open access: yesInfoMat, EarlyView.
A butterfly‐wing‐inspired anisotropic plasmonic flatband resonant metasurface. Insets, photo of the butterfly, Sasakia charonda, and the SEM image of its wing scale (above); the SEM image of the metasurface (below). Abstract The dazzling colors of butterfly wings and hummingbird feathers are not painted with pigments, but crafted by nature's invisible ...

Image transfer through a chaotic channel by intensity correlations

open access: yes, 2005
The three-wave mixing processes in a second-order nonlinear medium can be used for imaging protocols, in which an object field is injected into the nonlinear medium together with a reference field and an image field is generated. When the reference field

Improvement of digital Gabor holographic microscopy using a lens in plankton studies

open access: yesHeliyon
This work utilizes a Gabor Holographic Optical Scheme integrated with a microscope objective and a thin convex plane lens. This bi-telecentric lens system corrects spherical aberration from the objective, maintains consistent magnification across various

Coherence‐Gated Mirau Interferometry for Single‐Shot Quantitative Phase Imaging and Motion Sensing

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This paper presents a compact add‐on module converting a Mirau or other on‐axis interferometer into a single‐shot quantitative phase imaging system using coherence gating and precise optical path matching. Demonstrations include time‐resolved imaging of human cells and streaming red blood cells, visualization of evaporation dynamics in liquid mixtures,

Optically Bound Rapid Plasmonic Nanorod Dimers: Anisotropic Dynamics Driven by Light‐Fluidic Cooperation

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Optically confined gold nanorods exhibit cooperative light‐driven dynamics, forming mobile end‐to‐end dimers with orientation‐dependent propulsion. Using structured laser traps and an opto‐thermo‐hydrodynamic model, we uncover how optical binding, polarization‐induced torque, and near‐surface hydrodynamics govern their motion.
