Sweet Potato Gene Clusters Control Anthocyanin Biosynthesis and Leaf Morphology
ABSTRACT Sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) exhibits diversity in pigmentation and leaf morphology, yet the genetic architecture and regulatory organisation underlying these traits remain poorly resolved, particularly with respect to organ‐specific control.

Hexokinase 1 facilitates post‐germinative seedling growth through its catalytic function
SUMMARY In darkness or dim light PHYTOCHROME INTERACTING FACTORS (PIFs) induce skotomorphogenic seedling growth, which is exemplified by elongated hypocotyls. Likewise, HEXOKINASE1 (HXK1) has been reported to promote hypocotyl growth under light and nutrient limiting conditions.

A single amino acid can determine the DNA binding specificity of homeodomain proteins [PDF]
Many Drosophila developmental genes contain a DNA binding domain encoded by the homeobox. This homeodomain contains a region distantly homologous to the helix-turn-helix motif present in several prokaryotic DNA binding proteins.

Abstract Tuft cells act as sentinels that amplify type 2 inflammation primarily by activating type 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s). Although normally absent from the distal lung, ectopic tuft cells form after severe lung injury including influenza infection in mice.

The homeodomain-containing proteins: an update on their interacting partners.
Homeodomain-containing proteins are transcription regulators controlling the coordinated expression of genes involved in development, differentiation, and cellular transformation. They share a highly conserved 60-amino-acid region (the "homeodomain"), which allows them to bind DNA and modulate the expression of multiple target genes, whose identities ...

Expression and localization of homeodomain proteins DLX4, HB9 and HB24 in malignant and benign human colorectal tissues [PDF]
BackgroundThe purpose of this study was to identify homeobox genes expressed in the human colon and to determine whether their expression levels were altered between matched non-malignant and malignant colon tissues.Materials and methodsHomeobox genes ...

Flammulina filiformis is a commercially important edible mushroom whose sexual compatibility is determined by genes at two unlinked mating-type loci, A and B. However, the molecular basis of MAT-A activation in this species remains unclear.
