Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Model- and calibration-independent test of cosmic acceleration

open access: yes, 2009
We present a calibration-independent test of the accelerated expansion of the universe using supernova type Ia data. The test is also model-independent in the sense that no assumptions about the content of the universe or about the parameterization of ...

Study on the Elemental Fractionation Effect of CGSG Reference Materials and the Related Within-Unit Homogeneity of Major and Trace Elements

open access: yesYankuang ceshi, 2016
Studies on elemental fractionation and homogeneity of CGSG reference materials (CGSG-1, CGSG-2, CGSG-4 and CGSG-5) promote quality assessment and application.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Homogeneity Test and Sample Size of Relative Risk Ratios for Complex Paired Data Under Dalla’s Model

open access: yesAxioms
In clinical research, unilateral data and bilateral data are commonly collected when paired organs or body parts of people receive treatment. Existing models are often inadequate for the research of combined unilateral and bilateral data.

Tests for Comparing Several Two-Parameter Exponential Distributions Based on Uncensored/Censored Samples

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Theory and Applications (JSTA), 2020
The problems of comparing several exponential distributions based on type II censored samples are considered. Likelihood ratio tests (LRTs) for comparing several location parameters, comparing several scale parameters and for homogeneity of distributions

Digital twins to accelerate target identification and drug development for immune‐mediated disorders

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Digital twins integrate patient‐derived molecular and clinical data into personalised computational models that simulate disease mechanisms. They enable rapid identification and validation of therapeutic targets, prediction of drug responses, and prioritisation of candidate interventions.

Unbiasedness of Tests for Homogeneity of Variances

open access: yesThe Annals of Mathematical Statistics, 1971
Abstract : Consider the classical homogeneity of variances model. That is, suppose one has a one way layout, with independent random samples of equal sizes in each column. Assume the samples are from normal populations with unknown means and unknown variances. One wishes to test the hypothesis that all the variances are equal. R. V. Laue (1965) defined
