Recipient-Reported Reactogenicity of Different SARS-CoV-2 Vaccination Regimens among Healthcare Professionals and Police Staff in Germany

open access: yesVaccines, 2023
The rapid availability of effective vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 was key during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, vaccine hesitancy and relatively low vaccine coverage rates among the general population and particularly vulnerable populations such as ...

Immunotherapy of Tumors with Protein Vaccine Based on Chicken Homologous Tie-2 [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Cancer Research, 2006
AbstractPurpose: Tie-2 is an endothelium-specific receptor tyrosine kinase known to play a key role in tumor angiogenesis. The present study explores the feasibility of immunotherapy of tumors by using a protein vaccine based on chicken Tie-2 as a model antigen to break the immune tolerance against Tie-2 in a cross-reaction between the xenogeneic ...

Immune response of heterologous versus homologous prime-boost regimens with adenoviral vectored and mRNA COVID-19 vaccines in immunocompromised patients

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2023
Due to rare but major adverse reactions to the AstraZeneca adenoviral ChAdOx1-S-nCoV-19 vaccine (ChAd), German health authorities recommended adults under 60 who received one dose of ChAd, to receive a second dose of the BioNTech mRNA BNT162b2 vaccine ...

Combined monitoring of IgG and IgA anti-Spike and anti-Receptor binding domain long term responses following BNT162b2 mRNA vaccination in Greek healthcare workers.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2022
Studies on the humoral response to homologous BNT162b2 mRNA-vaccination focus mainly on IgG antibody dynamics, while long-term IgA kinetics are understudied.

Immunogenicity and Effectiveness of Primary and Booster Vaccine Combination Strategies during Periods of SARS-CoV-2 Delta and Omicron Variants

open access: yesVaccines, 2022
In this study involving a cohort of employees of the National Airline company in Lebanon, we assessed humoral immunity levels and the effectiveness of two COVID-19 vaccines, Gam-COVID-Vac versus BNT162b2, after two doses and after a homologous and ...

Neutralizing antibodies induced by homologous and heterologous boosters in CoronaVac vaccines in Chile

open access: yesClinical Microbiology and Infection, 2023
To determine the impact of a booster dose on the humoral response in individuals inoculated with a complete schedule of any SARS-CoV-2 vaccine, we evaluated the neutralizing antibody (NAb) titres of homologous or heterologous booster doses over a 90-days period in CoronaVac vaccinees from 3 centres in Santiago, Chile.Individuals previously inoculated ...

Cross-Protection against Homologous Drift Variants of Influenza A and B after Vaccination with Split Vaccine

open access: yesIntervirology, 2006
The aim of this serological study was to demonstrate the extent to which antibodies react against subsequent drift variants, after vaccination with split vaccine (FluarixTM). Antibody titers have been determined by hemagglutination inhibition test (HI) against different influenza A and B drift variants in sera from three past ...

Heterologous prime-boost immunization with ChAdOx1-S and BNT162b2: reactogenicity and immunogenicity in a prospective cohort study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Infectious Diseases, 2023
Objectives: Regarding reactogenicity and immunogenicity, heterologous COVID-19 vaccination regimens are considered as an alternative to conventional immunization schemes.

Homologous and heterologous protection of mice with group A streptococcal M protein vaccines [PDF]

open access: yesInfection and Immunity, 1977
Purified streptococcal M proteins precipitated with alum (APM) were used to immunize mice. A trivalent vaccine of serotypes 1, 3, and 12 protected mice against challenges by homologous live streptococci and also conferred protection against serotypes 6 and 14 but not against a strain of group B streptococci.
