Holocene Land‐Use and Climate Forcing of Ombrotrophic Peatland Dynamics in Northwest Estonia

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Biogeosciences, Volume 130, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract We present a high‐resolution, multi‐proxy record from Mustjärve bog, northwest Estonia, covering the past ∼2,500 years. By integrating paleoecological, historical, and climate data, we evaluate how climate and land use shaped peatland hydrology, vegetation, and carbon dynamics.

Differential expression of dehydrin genes in hull-less barley (Hordeum vulgare ssp vulgare) depending on duration of dehydration stress

open access: yes, 2008
Dehydrins (DHN) are water-soluble lipid-associating proteins that accumulate during low-temperature and water-stress conditions, and are thought to play a protective role in freezing and drought tolerance in plants.

The fungi communities of the soil environment of Triticum aestivum and its forecrops: Hordeum vulgare, Vicia faba ssp. minor and Trifolium pratense

open access: yesActa Mycologica, 2014
The species spectrum and abundance of the fungi communities were affected by the soil environment developed by wheat and its forecrops, and by atmospheric conditions.

Mycobiota and Mycotoxin Content of Cereal Flours from a Serbian Market

open access: yesProceedings
Altogether, 39 cereal flour samples taken from a Serbian market were analyzed for mycobiota and mycotoxin content, among which were six Triticum aestivum specimens, five Triticum dicoccum specimens, four Hordeum vulgare specimens, five Fagopyrum ...

Comparative Genomic and Transcriptomic Analysis Suggests the Evolutionary Dynamic of GH3 Genes in Gramineae Crops

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2019
Glycoside hydrolase 3 (GH3) gene family belongs to auxin-responsive gene families and is tightly linked with hormone homeostasis and signaling pathways. However, our knowledge about the evolutionary dynamic of GH3 genes in Gramineae crops is limited.

Use of H. vulgare EST Markers, GISH and C-banding to Study Bread Wheat – H. marinum subsp. gussoneanum (2n = 28) Introgression Lines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Wild barley, Hordeum marinum subsp. gussoneanum (2n = 28) is a valuable source of genes that determine resistance to abiotic stresses. These resistance traits might be transferred to wheat due to the crossability of wild barley with bread wheat.
