Countrywide PV hosting capacity and energy storage requirements for distribution networks: The case of Switzerland

open access: yesApplied Energy, 2021
Distributed photovoltaic (PV) generation is typically connected to power distribution grids, which are not designed to host a large amount of production if it is significantly larger than their nominal electricity demand.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

An Enhanced Approach for Solar PV Hosting Capacity Analysis in Distribution Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
With the falling cost of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) and the shift from fossil fuel to renewable energy in many countries, the integration of DERs is expected to grow. This can lead to a wide range of problems in the power system, such as voltage

Fairness for distribution network hosting capacity

open access: yes2025 IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference Europe (ISGT Europe)
The integration of distributed generation (DG) is essential to the energy transition but poses challenges for lowvoltage (LV) distribution networks (DNs) with limited hosting capacity (HC). This study incorporates multiple fairness criteria, utilitarian, egalitarian, bounded, and bargaining, into the HC optimisation framework to assess their impact ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

An Enhanced Second-Order Cone Programming-Based Evaluation Method on Maximum Hosting Capacity of Solar Energy in Distribution Systems with Integrated Energy

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
In order to adjust to the change of the large-scale deployment of photovoltaic (PV) power generation and fully exploit the potentialities of an integrated energy distribution system (IEDS) in solar energy accommodation, an evaluation method on maximum ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 6, Page 1626-1642, June 2026.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Multidimensional Hosting Capacity Region in Dutch MV Grid Congestion Management

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Power Systems
The hosting capacity determines the grid ability to host integrated installations, where mutual-limitations among points of connection (POCs) are important and formulate a combinational feasible region.
