Achieving high ductility and strength in magnesium alloy through cryogenic-hot forming
Magnesium alloys are the lightest structural alloys and have attracted substantial research attention in the past two decades. However, their mechanical properties, including ductility and strength, are limited after forming due to the formation of ...

Effect of minor rare earth cerium addition on the hot ductility of a reactor pressure vessel steel
The hot ductility of the specimens for a reactor pressure vessel steel (SA508-III), undoped and doped with minor rare earth Ce, is studied through hot tensile tests by means of a Gleeble machine in conjunction with scanning electron microscopy, optical ...

Effect of Rare Earth Yttrium on the Hot Ductility of Fe-36Ni Invar Alloy
The hot ductility of Fe-36Ni invar alloy doped with and without yttrium was investigated using a Gleeble-3800 thermal-mechanical simulator over the temperature range 850–1050 °C and the improvement mechanism of the hot ductility was analysed with a ...

Investigation on the hot ductility of Q235 low-carbon steel with boron addition
We tested the mechanical properties of B-containing steel at 600–1300 °C using Gleeble 1500, and the hot ductility was investigated according to the reduction in area (RA). The fractured specimens were examined using scanning electron microscopy.

Effect of Tin on Hot Ductility and High-temperature Oxidation Behavior of 20CrMnTi Steel
The hot ductility and high-temperature oxidation behavior of 20CrMnTi steel with 0.02% Cu and x% Sn (0.004 ⩽ x ⩽ 0.049) were investigated. The results show that tin has no significant effect on tensile strength of sample with less than 0.049% Sn.
