Hot workability of 420 J1 martensitic stainless steel

open access: yesProcedia Manufacturing, 2020
Abstract Steel grade 420 J1 is martensitic colonies embedded with ferritic phase stainless steel. The steel under investigation contains mainly 12.42 % chromium and 0.2% carbon. Hot workability of the 420 J1 steel grade became the most critical issue to suit the different application requirements.

Microstructure Evolution in a β-γ TiAl Alloy during Hot Deformation under Variable Conditions

open access: yesCrystals, 2023
In contrast to practical hot compression processes, the testing of the hot workability of TiAl alloys is usually conducted under the conditions of constant strain rates and constant temperatures.

Electric Field‐Dependent Conductivity as Probe for Charge Carrier Delocalization and Morphology in Organic Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Applying a high electric field to a doped organic semiconductor heats up the charge carrier distribution beyond the lattice temperature, enhancing conductivity. It is shown that the associated effective temperature can be used to extract the effective localization length, which is a characteristic length scale of charge transport and provides ...

An investigation of hot deformation response of particulate-reinforced magnesium + 4.5% titanium composite

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2006
The deformation response of magnesium based metal matrix composite was investigated by means of hot compression tests. The flow curves were obtained in the temperature and strain rate range of 300-500 °C and 0.001-1 s-1 respectively in order to ...

Hot deformation behavior and 3D processing map of super austenitic stainless steel containing 7Mo–0.46N–0.02Ce: Effect of the solidification direction orientation of columnar crystal to loading direction

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2021
In the present paper, hot compression tests on a super austenitic stainless steel (SASS) containing 7Mo–0.46N–0.02Ce were performed at temperatures of 900 °C-1200 °C and strain rates of 0.01–10 s−1. The effect of angle between solidification direction of
