Performance Analysis of Gear Honing with Modified TI-Hourglass Worm Honing Wheel
According to the theories of differential geometry and gear meshing, the basic equations for involute helicoids, meshinglines and meshing boundary lines are deduced. Then using MATLAB program, the contact lines and meshing boundary are drawn. The results show

Mathematical model of the worm wheel tooth flank of a double-enveloping worm gear
This paper presents a novel method for determining the worm wheel tooth flank surface. The worm wheel model is developed according to the theory of gearing and the gear generation mechanism. Two cases are considered simultaneously.

Grinding of high accurate hourglass worm. Trial manufacture of worm grinding device.
High accurate worm gears can be effectively used as an angle dividing standard. Wildhaber worm gearing is a kind of hourglass worm gearing. Due to the geometrical simplicity, its worm and worm wheel can be easily finished and accurately measured. This study describes a precision grinding method of the Wildhaber worm.

Hourglass Worm Gears Designed to Concentrate Surface Normals
To avoid the influence of small displacement of gear axes under load, the authors propose that all contact normals of a tooth surface should be at right angles to the direction of the small displacement induced at each contact point under load. On the basis of this state of surface normals, a few methods of tooth surface generation have been devised ...
