HSP or not HSP… that is the question [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ Case Reports, 2010
The authors report on the case of a 10-year-old girl who presented with a vasculitic process primarily involving the skin, joints and kidneys, which was initially presumed to be a variant of Henoch-Schonlein purpura. When the disease process behaved in a more aggressive way than expected, with the rapid onset of acute renal failure, further ...

Ins and Outs of Heat Shock Proteins in Colorectal Carcinoma: Its Role in Carcinogenesis and Therapeutic Perspectives

open access: yesCells, 2021
Cancer cells can reprogram their metabolic activities and undergo uncontrolled proliferation by utilizing the power of heat shock proteins (HSPs). HSPs are highly conserved chaperones that facilitate the folding of intracellular proteins under stress ...

The HSP Immune Network in Cancer [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2021
Heat shock proteins are molecular chaperones which support tumor development by regulating various cellular processes including unfolded protein response, mitochondrial bioenergetics, apoptosis, autophagy, necroptosis, lipid metabolism, angiogenesis, cancer cell stemness, epithelial-mesenchymal transition and tumor immunity.

Heat stress-induced changes in skeletal muscle: Heat shock proteins and cell signaling transduction

open access: yesJournal of Physical Fitness and Sports Medicine, 2012
Many researchers have been interested in the effects of heat stress on skeletal muscle. Recently, it has been demonstrated that heat stress on skeletal muscle results in an increase in muscle protein mass and subsequent muscle hypertrophy, and ...

Role of Heat Shock Proteins in Atrial Fibrillation: From Molecular Mechanisms to Diagnostic and Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesCells, 2022
Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are endogenous protective proteins and biomarkers of cell stress response, of which examples are HSP70, HSP60, HSP90, and small HSPs (HSPB).

The effects of heat shock treatment on the floral formation of cucumber excised cotyledons and the electrophoresis patterns of soluble proteins(热击处理对离体子叶培养物花芽分化与可溶性蛋白谱的影响)

open access: yesZhejiang Daxue xuebao. Lixue ban, 2001

Stress protein (HSP70 family) expression in intertidal benthic organisms: the example of Anthopleura elegantissima (Cnidaria: Anthozoa)

open access: yesScientia Marina, 2004
Both the physiology and distribution of intertidal organisms are strongly influenced by different kinds of physical stress. Temperature, UV radiation and desiccation in low tide conditions are usually considered the most important physical stresses ...

Density distribution of mean HSPS scores, total Paranormal Responses, Anomalous Responses, and SAE No Responses.

open access: yes, 2022
For HSPS score, lines represent cut-off points for SPS groups as according to Lionetti et al [48]. The first line is the cut-off between the low SPS group (29.5% of the sample) and medium group (HSPS score = 3.63) and the second line for medium and high ...

Alternative Splicing in Heat Shock Protein Transcripts as a Mechanism of Cell Adaptation in Trichophyton rubrum

open access: yesCells, 2019
Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are involved in critical processes like host tissue invasion, resistance, and pathogenicity in dermatophytes. RNA-Seq analysis of Trichophyton rubrum exposed to undecanoic acid (UDA) revealed intron retention events in HSP ...
