Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Human-Computer Interaction in Architectural Design

open access: yes, 1988
This chapter discusses human–computer interaction in architectural design. It focuses on two topics: (1) the role of graphic representations and, therefore, of computer graphics in the architectural design process; and (2) the role of internal ...

Cognitive Biases in User Interaction with Automated Vehicles: The Influence of Explainability and Mental Models

open access: yesApplied Sciences
To develop truly human-centered automated systems, it is essential to acknowledge that human reasoning is prone to systematic deviations from rational judgment, known as Cognitive Biases.

Evolution of Human Computer Interaction [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Visualization, 2020
The work is devoted to the review of the development the human-computer interaction. In the first sections the history of computing in the "pre-computer" era is briefly described and then the early history of modern computing, methods of the first computers controlling and the tasks of programmers at this stage are described.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Effects of exposure to immersive videos and photo slideshows of forest and urban environments

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
A large number of studies have demonstrated the benefits of natural environments on people’s health and well-being. For people who have limited access to nature (e.g., elderly in nursing homes, hospital patients, or jail inmates), virtual representations

Human-computer interaction [PDF]

open access: yesACM Computing Surveys, 1996
All aspects of human-computer interaction, from the high-level concerns of organizational context and system requirements to the conceptual, semantic, syntactic, and lexical levels of user interface design, are ultimately funneled through physical input and output actions and devices.
