Non-Human Primate-Derived Adenoviruses for Future Use as Oncolytic Agents?

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2020
Non-human primate (NHP)-derived adenoviruses have formed a valuable alternative for the use of human adenoviruses in vaccine development and gene therapy strategies by virtue of the low seroprevalence of neutralizing immunity in the human population. The

Single‐Cell Profiling Across Immune Tissues and Organs Reveals Immunosenescence Signatures in Male Rhesus Monkeys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell profiling across bone marrow, spleen, mesenteric lymph, and blood in rhesus monkeys reveals organ Immunosenescence. GZMB rises with age, particularly in cytotoxic and terminally exhausted CD8+ T cells, and BHLHE40 emerges as a key transcription factor enriched across multiple CD8+ subsets, regulating pro‐inflammatory and exhaustion‐related ...

Comparison of molecular markers to detect fresh sewage in environmental waters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Human-specific Bacteroides HF183 (HS-HF183), human-specific Enterococci faecium esp (HS-esp), human-specific adenoviruses (HS-AVs) and human-specific polyomaviruses (HS-PVs) assays were evaluated in freshwater, seawater and distilled water to detect ...

Latent Species C Adenoviruses in Human Tonsil Tissues [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Virology, 2009
ABSTRACT Although species C human adenoviruses establish persistent infections, the molecular details of this lifestyle remain poorly understood. We previously reported that adenovirus DNA is found in human mucosal T lymphocytes in a noninfectious form (C. T. Garnett, D. Erdman, W. Xu, and L. R. Gooding, J. Virol.

Targeting Lactate and Lactylation in Cancer Metabolism and Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactate, once deemed a metabolic waste, emerges as a central regulator of cancer progression. This review elucidates how lactate and its epigenetic derivative, protein lactylation, orchestrate tumor metabolism, immune suppression, and therapeutic resistance.

Predicting the Next Eye Pathogen: Analysis of a Novel Adenovirus

open access: yesmBio, 2013
For DNA viruses, genetic recombination, addition, and deletion represent important evolutionary mechanisms. Since these genetic alterations can lead to new, possibly severe pathogens, we applied a systems biology approach to study the pathogenicity of a ...

Evidence of frequent recombination among human adenoviruses

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 2008
Genome stability is a prerequisite for the production and use of adenoviruses for therapy of genetic diseases and cancer. To test the premise that the adenoviral genome is stable, the phylogenetic relationships of 16 adenovirus C (AdC) field isolates were studied in four genome regions: hexon, fiber, polymerase and E1A.

Connexin43 Deficiency Leads to Ventricular Arrhythmias by Reprogramming Proline Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study demonstrated that connexin43 (Cx43) knockout caused arrhythmic phenotype and decreased proline content in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, Cx43 interacts with the amino acid transporter SNAT2 (sodium‐dependent neutral amino acid transporter), and its deficiency disrupts proline transport and metabolism.

Neonates with acute liver failure have higher overall mortality but similar posttransplant outcomes as older infants

open access: yesLiver Transplantation, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract Neonatal acute liver failure (ALF) carries a high mortality rate; however, little data exist on its peritransplant hospital course. This project aimed to identify factors associated with outcomes in neonates with ALF using large multicenter databases.
