Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Resistance and chemosensitivity restoration in human cytomegalovirus-infected tumor cells to doxorubicin through combined treatment with aqueous fullerene dC60

open access: yesВопросы вирусологии
Introduction. Human cytomegalovirus infection can induce tumor cell resistance to chemotherapeutic agents through modulation of apoptotic pathways. In the search for alternative approaches to overcome virus-associated drug resistance, the application of ...

The Transcriptome of Latent Human Cytomegalovirus

open access: yesJournal of Virology, 2019
The latent human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) transcriptome has been extremely difficult to define due to the scarcity of naturally latent cells and the complexity of available models. The genomic era offers many approaches to transcriptome profiling that hold

Human cytomegalovirus structural proteins

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 1994
Introduction. Members of the Herpesviridae family are viruses with a core containing the viral DNA in the form of a torus, a capsid (100 nm in diameter and composed of 162 capsomers), a tegument, which is a structure of variable thickness between the capsid and the envelope, and an envelope.

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

MicroRNA-613 is downregulated in HCMV-positive glioblastoma and inhibits tumour progression by targeting arginase-2

open access: yesTumor Biology, 2017
Glioblastoma is the most common and malignant tumour that occurs primarily in nervous system and has a high morbidity. Research on glioblastoma has recently focused on human cytomegalovirus, belonging to the beta subfamily of Herpesviridae that plays ...

Understanding HCMV Latency Using Unbiased Proteomic Analyses

open access: yesPathogens, 2020
Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) establishes either a latent (non-productive) or lytic (productive) infection depending upon cell type, cytokine milieu and the differentiation status of the infected cell.

Towards a Prophylactic Vaccine for the Prevention of HCMV Infection

open access: yesVaccines, 2021
Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) or human herpesvirus 5, is a ubiquitous human herpesvirus, which can cause severe disease in immunocompromised patients (AIDS patients and solid organ transplant or hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients) [...]
