Movement Disorders in Aicardi–Goutières Syndrome and Response to Immunomodulation
ABSTRACT This study characterizes movement disorders and treatment responses in seven children with Aicardi–Goutières syndrome (AGS). We retrospectively evaluated motor phenotypes, neuroimaging, and interferon signatures in patients treated with baricitinib or anifrolumab. Spasticity affected all patients, while dystonia was present in 4/7.

Cytomegalovirus infection in patients after orthotopic liver transplantation (clinical report)
Herpes viruses are widespread in the human population, they are able to infect almost all organs and systems of the body. Currently, 8 serotypes of herpesviruses pathogenic for humans are known: herpes simplex viruses of the 1st and 2nd. type, chickenpox

Latency and reactivation of human cytomegalovirus
Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) persists as a subclinical, lifelong infection in the normal human host, maintained at least in part by its carriage in the absence of detectable infectious virus – the hallmark of latent infection. Reactivation from latency in immunocompromised individuals, in contrast, often results in serious disease.

The Case of a 40‐Year‐Old Man With New‐Onset Status Epilepticus in the Setting of HIV Infection
ABSTRACT A 40‐year‐old man from Andhra Pradesh in India, while on regular antiretroviral treatment (ART) for long‐standing HIV infection presented with a 1‐day history of new‐onset status epilepticus. CT and MRI brain showed multifocal cerebral ring lesions, some of which demonstrated characteristic ‘hole‐with‐a‐dot’ sign.

The Transcriptome of Latent Human Cytomegalovirus [PDF]
The latent human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) transcriptome has been extremely difficult to define due to the scarcity of naturally latent cells and the complexity of available models. The genomic era offers many approaches to transcriptome profiling that hold great potential for elucidating this challenging issue.

The nanostructure, size, and function of mRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles are evaluated before drying, within polymer microneedles, and after rehydration. The results reveal the polymer and LNP loadings required to recover nanostructure and preserve the delivery performance in dry‐state formulations.

Vaccination against the human cytomegalovirus
The human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) is the most important infectious cause of congenital abnormalities and also of infectious complications of transplantation. The biology of the infection is complex and acquired immunity does not always prevent reinfection.

Portable Molecularly Imprinted Polymer Sensor for Rapid Swab‐Based Detection of Norovirus
This work reports a rapid, portable smartphone‐based sensor capable of detecting four norovirus genotypes from swab samples within 15 min. Sensor selectivity was validated through evaluation against four common live viruses. The swab‐based sampling process enabled simple sample preparation combined with the compact detection system, supporting use of ...

We developed a patient‐derived, functional microfluidic model of the diffuse midline glioma (DMG) blood–brain–tumor barrier (BBTB) comprised of endothelial cells, astrocytes, pericytes, and tumor cells. The system forms perfusable microvasculature, reveals the BBTB retains vascular integrity, identifies DMG‐specific transcriptomic changes distinct from
