Late Cytomegalovirus Infections After Allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Transplant
ABSTRACT Graft versus host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis with posttransplant cyclophosphamide (ptCY) and cytomegalovirus (CMV) prophylaxis with letermovir have changed the clinical epidemiology of CMV infection. We studied the incidence, risk factors for, and outcomes of CMV infection after Day + 90 of allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant (alloHCT ...

Variation of Human Herpesvirus 7 Shedding in Saliva [PDF]
Sequential analysis of human herpesvirus 7 (HHV-7) shedding in saliva obtained from healthy adults was performed for 6 months; virus was isolated in 92 (34.1%) of the 270 saliva samples obtained. Frequency of HHV-7 shedding in serially obtained saliva samples varied among subjects.

Porcine kidney xenotransplantation: From primate models to clinical reality
In the face of a critical shortage of human donor kidneys for end‐stage renal disease patients, porcine kidney xenotransplantation has emerged as a viable solution. This field has navigated major hurdles, including immune rejection, physiological incompatibilities, potential biomechanical differences and the risk of cross‐species infection. To overcome

Transmission dynamics of human herpesvirus 6A, 6B and 7 from whole genome sequences of families
While hundreds of thousands of human whole genome sequences (WGS) have been collected in the effort to better understand genetic determinants of disease, these whole genome sequences have less frequently been used to study another major determinant of ...

What Makes an “Ideal” Cell Line for Recombinant Adeno‐Associated Virus Production?
Several host cell types have been used to produce rAAVs to date. Cell line‐specific traits that are beneficial in the context of rAAV manufacturing are reviewed here, with the goal of developing a consensus on the ‘ideal’ characteristics that an rAAV production host should possess (created with Biorender.com).

Abstract Objective Febrile seizures (FS) are the most common seizures in childhood, yet identifying children at risk of developing epilepsy after the first FS remains challenging. We aimed to evaluate the prognostic potential of machine learning (ML) algorithms applied to post‐febrile seizure electroencephalography (EEG) recordings.

Pityriasis Rosea in a Pregnancy
A pregnant woman with Pitriasis rosea whose lesion onset is in first trimester is presented. No interventions were undertaken and her eruption remitted completely 6-7 weeks. We found no evidence of active infection for HHV-6 and HHV-7.

HHV-7 first isolated in 1990 from a healthy individual, is a ubiquitous agent. The second independent isolation of HHV-7 from a chronic fatigue syndrome patient was reported in 1992. The seroepidemiology of HHV-7 suggested that its prevalence rate in the U.S.A. population is > 85%; however, in Japan a low prevalence rate has been reported. HHV-7 can be

Kaposiform hemangioendothelioma: Diagnosis and treatment
Vascular endothelial growth factor‐C (VEGF‐C)/vascular endothelial growth factor receptor‐3 (VEGFR‐3) and angiopoietin‐2 (Ang‐2)/tyrosine kinase with immunoglobulin‐like and EGF‐like domain 2 (TIE2) signaling pathways play an important role in lymphangiogenesis.

Human herpesvirus type 7 in Hodgkin's disease [PDF]
Several lines of evidence have pointed to the involvement of a viral agent in the pathogenesis of Hodgkin's disease (HD). Therefore we investigated the presence of human herpesvirus type 7 (HHV‐7) in 53 cases of HD by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), DNA in situ hybridization (ISH) and immunohistochemistry. HHV‐7 DNA was frequently detected (68% of the
