Human Herpesvirus 8 Induces Polyfunctional B Lymphocytes That Drive Kaposi’s Sarcoma
Kaposi’s sarcoma (KS) is an unusual neoplasia wherein the tumor consists primarily of endothelial cells infected with human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8; Kaposi’s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus) that are not fully transformed but are instead driven to excess ...

Novel γ-2-Herpesvirus of the Rhadinovirus 2 Lineage in Gibbons
We obtained 475 nucleotides of the DNA polymerase gene of a novel human herpesvirus 8 homolog sequence in a gibbon. The finding of this new gibbon virus, which clusters with a related chimpanzee virus in the rhadinovirus 2 genogroup, suggests the ...

Human herpesvirus 8 ([HHV-8], Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus [KSHV]) is a novel human oncovirus classified as a gamma-herpesvirus. HHV-8 is associated with Kaposi's sarcoma (KS), primary effusion lymphoma (PEL) and some cases of multicentric Castleman's disease (MCD). Antibodies against HHV-8 are detected in the sera of almost all KS patients,

Among 135 cases of post‐liver transplant HHV8 disease (4 from NSW), presentations varied, and mortality was high (44%). Donor screening was rare, and donor‐derived infection was suspected in 33%. Survival improved with mTORi, reduced immunosuppression, chemotherapy, and, for non‐KS disease, donor screening. ABSTRACT Background Human herpesvirus 8 (HHV8)

Seroprevalence and Risk Factors for Human Herpesvirus 8 Infection, Rural Egypt
To determine whether human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) is associated with schistosomal and hepatitis C virus infections in Egypt, we surveyed 965 rural household participants who had been tested for HHV-8 and schistosomal infection (seroprevalence 14.2% and 68.

ABSTRACT Background Progressive feline leukemia virus (FeLV) infection and anemia of suspected immune‐mediated origin (ASIMO) are associated with similar hematologic abnormalities, including anemia, neutropenia, and lymphocytosis. Cats with ASIMO may test positive for FeLV using point‐of‐care (POC) ELISA tests.

Bovine Alphaherpesvirus 1 (BoHV‐1) and Bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV) are major drivers of respiratory disease in cattle. (A) To target both pathogens, two chimeric antigens—membrane‐linked and secreted—combining BoHV‐1 glycoprotein D and BRSV fusion glycoprotein were designed and expressed using recombinant BoHV‐4‐based vectors.

ABSTRACT Equine melanocytic neoplasms (EMN) are aggressive tumours characterised by high metastatic potential and limited therapeutic options available. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying their progression remain poorly understood. This study therefore presents the integrative phosphoproteomic analysis of EMN tissue, with the aim of ...
