Human Monocytic Ehrlichiosis Presenting as Febrile Diarrhea
Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology, 1997I report a case of tick-borne ehrlichiosis in which the primary presentation suggested an infectious diarrhea, with impressive leukopenia and thrombocytopenia. Ehrlichiosis must be included in the differential diagnosis of febrile diarrhea in endemic areas because delay in therapy allows complications and sometimes death.

2012n this work we report the first case of Human Monocytic Ehrlichiosis (HME) in Italy. In November 2010 a 15-year- old girl was admitted to the a U.O.C. Genetic and Pediatric Immunology, Pediatrics Science Department, University of Messina, Sicily, Italy, for lymphadenopathy, headache, myalgia, existing rush , abdominal pain and conjunctivitis.
