Sleep Deprivation Induces Glial Dysfunction, Synaptic Loss, Metabolic Imbalance, and Cognitive Impairment in 12‐Month‐Old Mice: Protective Effects of D30

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 9, September 2026.
Sleep deprivation induces neuroglial atrophy and dendritic spine loss, accompanied by metabolic disturbances involving 1‐methyladenosine, citric acid, L‐kynurenine, and berberine, indicating disrupted neuroenergetic and immunometabolic homeostasis. These alterations result in deficits in spatial recognition, fear conditioning, nesting, and Morris Water
