Coupling between magnon and ligand-field excitations in magnetoelectric Tb3Fe5O12 garnet
The spectra of far-infrared transmission in Tb3Fe5O12 magnetoelectric single crystals have been studied in the range between 15 and 100 cm-1, in magnetic fields up to 10 T, and for temperatures between 5 and 150 K.

QCD string model for hybrid adiabatic potentials [PDF]
Hybrid adiabatic potentials are considered in the framework of the QCD string model. The einbein field formalism is applied to obtain the large-distance behaviour of adiabatic potentials.

Unveiling the origin of third harmonic generation in hybrid ITO-plasmonic crystals [PDF]
A hybrid plasmonic crystal for reaching a higher nonlinear upconversion rate is proposed and the physical mechanism behind the enhancement is unveiled by demonstrating that the nonlinear signal contains a unique spectral fingerprint regarding its origin.

The Design and Optimization of a Novel Hybrid Excitation Generator for Vehicles
Silicon rectifier generators, which are single-excitation generators, are commonly used in vehicles. However, a traditional single-excitation generator cannot satisfy the requirements of modern vehicles due to its low efficiency, high failure rate and ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Theory of Spin-Conserving Excitation of the $N-V^-$ Center in Diamond
The negatively charged nitrogen-vacancy defect ($N-V^-$ center) in diamond is an important atomic-scale structure that can be used as a qubit in quantum computing and as a marker in biomedical applications.

Communication: Hole localization in Al-doped quartz SiO2 within ab initio hybrid-functional DFT [PDF]
We investigate the long-standing problem of the hole localization at the Al impurity in quartz SiO$_2$, using a relatively recent DFT hybrid-functional method in which the exchange fraction is obtained \emph{ab initio}, based on an analogy with the ...
