Neuroinflammation in GAD65 Antibody‐Associated Epilepsy Measured Using [18F]DPA‐714 PET/MRI

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The timing for initiating immunotherapy in patients with glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 (GAD65) antibody‐associated epilepsy is a challenge. We used the translocator protein radioligand [18F]DPA‐714 and PET to evaluate brain microglial activation.

The experimental evidence of a strong coupling regime in the hybrid Tamm plasmon-surface plasmon polariton mode

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2021
Total internal reflection ellipsometry was employed for the excitation and study of hybrid Tamm plasmon-surface plasmon polaritons mode. Simple optical methodology using optical filters to cut the part of incident light spectra was proposed.

Performance of a non-empirical meta-GGA density functional for excitation energies

open access: yes, 2007
It is known that the adiabatic approximation in time-dependent density functional theory usually provides a good description of low-lying excitations of molecules.

Spectrally selective fluorescence imaging of Chlorobaculum tepidum reaction centers conjugated to chelator-modified silver nanowires [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A polyhistidine tag (His-tag) present on Chlorobaculum tepidum reaction centers (RCs) was used to immobilize photosynthetic complexes on a silver nanowire (AgNW) modified with nickel-chelating nitrilo-triacetic acid (Ni-NTA).

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Surface plasmon-mediated nanoscale localization of laser-driven sub-THz spin dynamics in magnetic dielectrics

open access: yes, 2017
Ultrafast all-optical control of spins with femtosecond laser pulses is one of the hot topics at the crossroads of photonics and magnetism with a direct impact on future magnetic recording. Unveiling light-assisted recording mechanisms for an increase of

3D global windings hybrid excitation switching flux machine [PDF]

open access: yes2014 17th International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2014
In this paper a new structure of a hybrid excitation flux-switching synchronous machine is presented. A 3D finite elements analysis and a comparison with experimental results are exposed. This model makes possible to show the flux path of the excitation flux and to explore the flux regulation capability of this new structure.

Packaging of Macroscopic Material Payloads: Needs, Challenges, Concepts, and Future Directions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This review introduces a unified framework that decomposes any macroscopic packaging system into the payload, packaging material, and packaging strategy and combines them into a conceptual packaging equation: packaging strategy = payload + packaging material.
