Vesicle−Polymer Hybrid Architectures:  A Full Account of the Parachute Architecture

Langmuir, 2000
We have previously reported that polymerization of styrene in dioctadecyldimethylammonium bromide (DODAB) vesicles leads to so-called parachute-like morphologies where a polymer bead is attached to a vesicle. To learn the constructive principles of these novel polymer colloids, we present here a full characterization study.

Microfluidic Production and Characterization of Lipid Vesicles, Polymer Vesicles, and Hybrid Polymer/Lipid Vesicles

2022
Lipid vesicles are aqueous volumes surrounded by a bilayer of lipid molecules, which are amphiphilic molecules with their head groups facing water and tail groups facing oil. These vesicles are simple models for cell membranes and can be used for drug delivery.

Mixed Hybrid Lipid/Polymer Vesicles as a Novel Membrane Platform

Macromolecular Rapid Communications, 2015
Vesicles can be individually fabricated from naturally occurring lipid or synthetic block copolymer molecules via self‐assembly in aqueous solutions; the blending of both vesicle‐forming amphiphiles leads to the formation of hybrid membranes. Their final stabilities and lateral morphologies are strongly determined by the molar composition, size, and ...

Encapsulation of lysozyme in hybrid vesicles to protect from thermal challenges

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules
This study explores the formation of hybrid vesicles (HVs) through the co-assembly of dipalmitoyl phosphatidylcholine (DPPC) and the triblock copolymer F127. Our findings demonstrate that HVs offer enhanced stability compared to pure copolymer micelles and phospholipid vesicles.
