Genetic divergence in advanced breeding lines and varieties of mungbean

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2020
The present investigation was carried out to study the genetic divergence of 100 mungbean genotypes using Mahalanobis D2 analysis. Among the traits studied, the number of branches contributed maximum percentage towards the total genetic divergence.

Assessing the Likelihood of Gene Flow From Sugarcane (Saccharum Hybrids) to Wild Relatives in South Africa

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2018
Pre-commercialization studies on environmental biosafety of genetically modified (GM) crops are necessary to evaluate the potential for sexual hybridization with related plant species that occur in the release area. The aim of the study was a preliminary

Citizen science facilitates first ever genetic detection of wolf‐dog hybridization in Indian savannahs

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2023
Human demographic expansion has confined wildlife to fragmented habitats, often in proximity to human‐modified landscapes. Such interfaces facilitate increased interactions between feral or domesticated animals and wildlife, posing a high risk to wild ...

Hybridization in natural sympatric populations of Dermacentor ticks in northwestern North America

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2013
Hybridization in ticks has been described in a handful of species and mostly as a result of laboratory experiments. We used 148 AFLP loci to describe putative hybridization events between D. andersoni and D.

Heterosis and genetic diversity in the crossings of gladiolus cultivars Amsterdam and White Prosperity

open access: yesOrnamental Horticulture, 2020
Gladiolus is one of the most important and popular cut-flower bulbous in Iran. The aim of this research was to produce new, high-quality hybrids through hybridization. We generated two promising hybrids (OPRC16 and OPRC57) combination from the varieties
