Novel Linear Hydraulic Actuator
In the area of linear motion, infinite stroke only is provided by electric actuators today, until now there has been no hydraulic alternative. The novel linear hydraulic actuator consists of two double acting cylinders with a common piston rod. The working principle of this actuator for short movements is that at least one piston is connected to the ...

Hydraulically actuated artificial muscles
SPIE Proceedings, 2012Hydraulic Artificial Muscles (HAMs) consisting of a polymer tube constrained by a nylon mesh are presented in this paper. Despite the actuation mechanism being similar to its popular counterpart, which are pneumatically actuated (PAM), HAMs have not been studied in depth.

A hydraulically-actuated vibrating table.
In engineering testing, a requirement frequently arises for subjecting components or assemblies to vibrations, in order to observe whether they possess undesirable resonances in their component parts, or whether they are sufficiently robust to operate under environmental conditions of severe vibration.openaire +2 more sources
Alternatives to chrome for hydraulic actuators
Sealing Technology, 2007The replacement of hard chrome as a wear and corrosion resistant coating is receiving considerable attention in certain application areas. One of the primary applications of interest to the sealing community is the coating of hydraulic cylinder piston rods.

Pressure Peaks in the Hydraulic Actuator
Journal of Basic Engineering, 1965Results are presented of theoretical and experimental studies of the pressure peaks occurring in valve-controlled hydraulic actuators operated under severe loading conditions. Oil compressibility is shown to reduce the magnitude of these peaks. Valve overlap has the opposite effect.

An electro-hydraulic actuator has an electric motor (25) disposed in a hydraulic fluid reservoir (17) and connected to drive a hydraulic fluid pump (23). The actuator includes an actuator rod (15) which extends or retracts as a piston (20) is hydraulically driven in a cylinder (19). An actuator housing (13) forms the reservoir (17) and the cylinder (19)

The invention relates to a clutch with a pressure plate (1) which in an engaged position pushes a driving disk (2) against a counter surface (3). For releasing the clutch, said pressure plate displaces a clutch controller (7) into a disengaged position in which the pressure plate (1) does not push the driving disk (2) against the counter surface (3 ...
