ABSTRACT In this study, a robust position control strategy is presented for a two‐stage electro‐hydraulic actuator system using a fractional‐order proportional–integral–derivative (FOPID) controller tuned by Kirchhoff's law algorithm (KLA). Electro‐hydraulic systems exhibit strong nonlinearities, parameter uncertainties, and external disturbances ...

Rate‐dependent performance of composite adhesive joints using thermoset and thermoplastic adhesives, in terms of toughness and fatigue behaviour. ABSTRACT A recently developed hot‐melt adhesive (HMA) based on cyclic olefin chemistry, supplied as a transparent, non‐tacky thermoplastic film with a distinctive polymer microstructure, was evaluated in this

Adaptive sliding-mode delay compensation for real-time hybrid simulations with multiple actuators
Real-time hybrid simulation (RTHS) is a widely applied test method in structural engineering, which is developed from pseudo-dynamic test. Much of the past work has been centered on one-dimensional RTHS using a single hydraulic actuator.

Optimizing PWM performance requires not only appropriate duty cycle selection, but also careful choice of adjuvant formulation tailored to each nozzle type. Drift control agents increased droplet size and reduced fine droplets, mitigating PWM‐induced variability. Decreasing the duty cycle consistently narrowed the spray angle.

Deep Reinforcement Learning‐Based Control for Real‐Time Hybrid Simulation of Civil Structures
ABSTRACT Real‐time Hybrid Simulation (RTHS) is a cyber‐physical technique that studies the dynamic behavior of a system by combining physical and numerical components that are coupled through a boundary condition enforcer. In structural engineering, the numerical components are subjected to environmental loads that become dynamic displacements of the ...

Comparative Analysis of Power Losses in the Single-Flow LS-Systems with Pump and Valve Configuration
The power losses in the single-flow hydraulic LS-systems with a pump configuration (using the variable displacement LS-pump) and with a valve configuration (using the fixed displacement pump) are investigated.

Control System for the Navigation of the Agricultural Robots: A Review
ABSTRACT Control systems for the navigation of autonomous agricultural robots—particularly those operating in uneven terrain and in the presence of static or dynamic obstacles—have advanced considerably in recent years. As conventional machinery evolves toward increasingly automated systems, the design of reliable navigation controllers has become ...

Actuation Strategies for Underwater Jet‐Propelled Soft Robots
ABSTRACT This review article examines jet‐propulsion mechanisms in underwater soft robotic systems, focusing exclusively on physically fabricated and experimentally validated robots. Covering research published from 2013 to 2025, this study classifies and evaluates jet‐propulsion robots based on their actuation mechanisms.
