Electrochemiluminescence of Heteroleptic Iridium(III) Complexes Featuring Substituted 2,4‐diphenylpyridinato Ligands

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Five heteroleptic iridium(III) complexes bearing cyclometalated 2,4‐diphenylpyridinato ligands were synthesized and their electrochemiluminescence (ECL) investigated. Two different coreactants were evaluated: tri‐n‐propylamine and benzoyl peroxide under anodic and cathodic potentials, respectively.

Design Considerations for Carbon-Free Combustion

open access: yes
reportCombustion of a hydrocarbon produces water and carbon dioxide. As consensus continues to build around the contributions of carbon in global client change, jurisdictions, both internationally as well as domestically, are working towards limiting ...

Global and Detailed Calculation of Tube Wall Temperature in a Process Furnace Steam Superheater

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
This study presents a comparison between an iterative global model and multiple approaches to a new non‐iterative model with the purpose of predicting tube wall temperature of a superheater. The results show that the non‐iterative method achieves sufficient accuracy while improving the prediction of local temperature distribution and better ...

Methanol With Increased Water Content in Internal Combustion Engines

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
This study investigates the potential to improve overall Well‐to‐Wheel efficiency by using low‐purity methanol from synthesis of hydrogen and furnace gas as CO2‐source. Combustion efficiency is comparable to pure methanol, while distillation energy could be saved.

From Potentiostatic to Galvanostatic Control in Pulsed Electrochemical CO2 Reduction to Ethylene

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
A two‐gap flow cell with three‐electrode configuration bridges the gap between H‐cells and industrial zero‐gap electrolyzers. Using ethylene‐selective CO2 reduction on copper as a model reaction, galvanostatic operation shows greater stability than potentiostatic control, whereas charge‐controlled pulsed protocols enable C2H4 selectivity under ...
