Efficient NiIr alloy catalyst for selective hydrogenation of benzonitrile, crotonaldehyde and benzylideneacetone

open access: yesCatalysis Communications, 2023
SiO2-supported NiIr alloy acted as an effective heterogeneous catalyst for the hydrogenation of benzonitrile, crotonaldehyde and benzylideneacetone, showing much higher activity than monometallic Ni/SiO2 and Ir/SiO2 catalysts and superior selectivity to ...

Recent Progress in Iridium-Catalyzed Enantioselective Hydrogenation: Tetrasubstituted Olefins and Polyenes

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2008
Iridium-catalyzed enantioselective hydrogenation has become the method of choice to convert prochiral unfunctionalized olefins to optically active compounds.

Synthesis of Ni/NiAlOx Catalysts for Hydrogenation Saturation of Phenanthrene

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2021
The saturation of octahydrophenanthrene was the rate-determining step in the hydrogenation process from phenanthrene to perhydrophenanthrene, which was due to the steric hindrance and competitive adsorption of octahydrophenanthrene.

Hydrogenation of unactivated enamines to tertiary amines : rhodium complexes of fluorinated phosphines give marked improvements in catalytic activity

open access: yes, 2015
Date of Acceptance: 16/04/2015In the hydrogenation of sluggish unactivated enamine substrates, Rh complexes of electron-deficient phosphines are demonstrated to be far more reactive catalysts than those derived from triphenylphosphine.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Dynamic modeling of three-phase upflow fixed-bed reactor including pore diffusion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The dynamics of a three-phase upflow fixed-bed reactor are investigated using a non-isothermal heterogeneous model including gas–liquid and liquid–solid mass transfer and diffusion/reaction phenomena inside the catalyst.

Development and industrial application of catalyzer for low-temperature hydrogenation hydrolysis of Claus tail gas

open access: yesNatural Gas Industry B, 2015
With the implementation of more strict national environmental protection laws, energy conservation, emission reduction and clean production will present higher requirements for sulfur recovery tail gas processing techniques and catalyzers.

Converting copper sulfide to copper with surface sulfur for electrocatalytic alkyne semi-hydrogenation with water

open access: yesNature Communications, 2021
Electrocatalytic alkyne semi-hydrogenation to alkenes with water as the hydrogen source using a low-cost noble-metal-free catalyst is highly desirable but challenging because of their over-hydrogenation to undesired alkanes.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...
