TEAC antioxidant activity of 4-hydroxybenzoates

Free Radical Biology and Medicine, 1999
The influence of pH, intrinsic electron donating capacity, and intrinsic hydrogen atom donating capacity on the antioxidant potential of series of hydroxy and fluorine substituted 4-hydroxybenzoates was investigated experimentally and also on the basis of computer calculations.

Interaction of 3-Hydroxybenzoate with 3-Hydroxybenzoate-6-hydroxylase

Biotechnology Progress, 2001
The gradual quenching of the emission fluorescence of 3-HBA in the visible region upon titration with 3-HBA-6-hydroxylase and distinct changes in the near-UV circular dichroic spectrum of the enzyme in the presence of substrate suggest the formation of a stable enzyme-substrate complex.

Excited-state proton transfer of 3-hydroxybenzoic acid and 4-hydroxybenzoic acid

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, 2010
The excited-state proton transfer of 3-hydroxybenzoic acid and 4-hydroxybenzoic acid was studied by time-resolved laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy with ultra-short laser pulses. The excited-state reactions were identified in aqueous media as a function of the pH value.
