Clinical Uses of 1-alpha-hydroxycholecalciferol
Current Vascular Pharmacology, 2014Alfacalcidol is a widely used vitamin D compound, especially in clinical nephrology because it does not require enzymatic activation by the kidneys. For that reason it has been used for decades to treat abnormalities in bone and mineral balance that arise in chronic kidney disease.

[Determination of 25-hydroxycholecalciferol in serum].
Revista espanola de fisiologia, 1984A precise specific method for measuring 25-hydroxycholecalciferol (25-OH CC) in 2 ml of human serum is described. It includes extraction with acetonitrile, separation with Sep-Pak C-18 cartridges, purification through HPLC and a further quantitation by means of a protein-binding assay.
