Radioimmunoassay of 2-hydroxyestrone

Steroids, 1978
Under the protection of ascorbic acid a 2-hydroxyestrone bovine serum albumin conjugate was prepared containing intact 2-hydroxyestrone as determined by gas chromatographymass spectometry. Using this antigen highely specific antibodies were raised in rabbits. Cross-reactivity for 2-hydroxyestradiol and 2-hydroxyestriol was 26 and 4.5%, respectively. An

A formal synthesis of 18-hydroxyestrone

Steroids, 1974
A formal synthesis of Image -18-hydroxyestrone has been achieved by the preparation of Image -3-methanesulfonyloxy-13β,17β-dicarboxy-18--norestra-1,3,5(10)-triene anhydride, the dextrorotatory enantiomer of which is an intermediate in Barton's conversion of Image -estrone to Image -1β-hydroxyestrone (KC-6A).

Urinary 2-Hydroxyestrone/16α-Hydroxyestrone Ratio and Family History of Breast Cancer in Premenopausal Women

Breast Cancer Research and Treatment, 2002
It has been hypothesized that the ratio of urinary 2-hydroxyestrone to 16alpha-hydroxyestrone (2-OHE1/16alpha-OHE1 represents a biomarker for breast cancer risk; the lower the ratio the higher the risk. We obtained early morning urine samples from 70 'high risk' premenopausal women who had a first degree family history of breast cancer and 27 'low risk'

Radioimmunoassay of 16α-hydroxyestrone in human urine

Steroids, 1989
A radioimmunoassay for the quantitation of the sum of free, glucuronidated and urine is described. The method is reliable and accurate. Using this method, urinary excretion of 16 alpha-hydroxyestrone was determined in normal men, premenopausal women, and postmenopausal women.

Does 2-Hydroxyestrone Suppress Prolactin in Women=*

The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1982
The catechol estrogen 2-hydroxyestrone was administered iv to six normal women at a dose of 80 µg/h for 4 h. In contrast to previous studies, no suppression of plasma PRL concentrations and no effect on LH or FSH were observed. We found no evidence to suggest that this compound behaves peripherally as anything other than a weak ...

Radioimmunoassay of 2-Hydroxyestrone in Human Plasma

The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1971
ABSTRACT Rabbit anti-2-hydroxyestrone antiserum was obtained using 2-hydroxyestrone coupled to bovine serum albumin as the antigen. A radioimmunoassay procedure for 2-hydroxyestrone utilizing the highly specific antiserum was developed and permitted the measurement of this labile material in body fluids.
