Determination of Diketopiperazine Formation During the Solid‐Phase Synthesis of C‐Terminal Acid Peptides

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, EarlyView.
Diketopiperazine formation (DKP) is one of the most serious side reactions during peptide synthesis. An accurate method to determine the DKP formation in peptide synthesis on Wang resin is reported. Furthermore, the strategies to minimize this side reaction and side products lacking C‐terminal amino acids are described. Diketopiperazine formation (DKP)

Safety, Tolerability, and Pharmacokinetics of the Long‐Acting SARS‐CoV‐2–Neutralizing Monoclonal Antibody Combination AZD7442 (Tixagevimab/Cilgavimab) in Healthy Chinese Adults

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology in Drug Development, EarlyView.
Abstract AZD7442, a combination of extended half‐life monoclonal antibodies tixagevimab and cilgavimab, was shown to neutralize previously circulating SARS‐CoV‐2 variants. This study evaluated safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of AZD7442 in healthy Chinese adults. In this randomized, placebo‐controlled, Phase 1 study, AZD7442

Kinetic and Thermodynamic Study of Proton Transfer Reactions of 1‐Hydroxy‐2,2‐Dinitroethane: Establishing a Predictive Relationship between Tautomeric and Acidity Constants in Water

open access: yesChemPhysChem, EarlyView.
Kinetic and thermodynamic analysis of 1‐hydroxy‐2,2‐dinitroethane nitronate reveals very low acidity constants for O‐ (pKaNO2H$p K_{\text{a}}^{\left(\text{NO}\right)_{2} \text{H}}$ = 1.67) and C‐protonation (pKaCH$p K_{\text{a}}^{\text{CH}}$ = 3.78) in water.

Novel Sulfur‐Containing Polyurethanes using 5‐(Chloromethyl)Furfural as a Renewable Building Block

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
A novel methodology is presented for synthesizing biomass‐derived diols using 5‐(chloromethyl)furfural, thiols, and mild reaction conditions. These innovative diols are subsequently utilized in the production of new polyurethanes via polyaddition with both commercially available and biomass‐derived diisocyanates.
