The regulation of hydroxymethylglutaryl-CoA reductase in cultured cells
Biochimica Et Biophysica Acta - Molecular Cell Research, 1988Growth-stimulated synchronized cells exhibit a rapid increase in 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase (HMG-CoA reductase, EC 1.1.1.88) activity prior to the onset of DNA synthesis. Under normal culture conditions, HMG-CoA reductase activity exhibits wide variations among experiments.

The Natural Products as Hydroxymethylglutaryl-Coa Reductase Inhibitors
Letters in Drug Design and Discovery, 2019High cholesterol and triglyceride levels are mainly related to further generation of life-threating metabolism disorders including cardiovascular system diseases. Therefore, hypercholesterolemia (i.e., also referred to as hyperlipoproteinemia) is a serious disease state, which must be controlled.

Hydroxymethylglutaryl coA reductase (NADPH) in the latex of Hevea brasiliensis
Phytochemistry, 1982Abstract The activity of hydroxymethylglutaryl CoA reductase (NADPH) (EC 1.1.1.34) was studied in the latex of regularly tapped mature trees of Hevea brasiliensis . The reductase activity was found mainly (95% of the total activity) in the pellet fraction (40 000 g ) of the centrifuged latex.

Reversible modulation of liver hydroxymethylglutaryl CoA reductase
Life Sciences, 1978Abstract The activity of rat liver microsomal hydroxymethylglutaryl CoA reductase (HMG CoA reductase, E.C. 1.1.1.34) is severely diminished when microsomes are preincubated with both ATP and Mg 2+ before the enzyme is assayed. Sensitivity to MgATP is progressively lost when microsomes are extracted with buffers.
