Synthesis, DFT Calculations, Antiproliferative, Bactericidal Activity and Molecular Docking of Novel Mixed-Ligand Salen/8-Hydroxyquinoline Metal Complexes

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
Despite the common use of salens and hydroxyquinolines as therapeutic and bioactive agents, their metal complexes are still under development. Here, we report the synthesis of novel mixed-ligand metal complexes (MSQ) comprising salen (S), derived from (2,

8‐Hydroxyquinolines are bactericidal against Mycobacterium tuberculosis

open access: yesDrug development research (Print), 2019
There is an urgent need for new treatments effective against Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the causative agent of tuberculosis. The 8‐hydroxyquinoline series is a privileged scaffold with anticancer, antifungal, and antibacterial activities. We conducted a

Preparation of 8-hydroxyquinoline wires by decomposition of tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminium [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Nanoscience, 2012
We fabricated 8-hydroxyquinoline (HQ) wires by two methods, decomposition of tris(HQ) aluminium at low pressure in a tube furnace and heating of HQ powder at atmospheric pressure. Fabricated wires were crystalline, and exhibited the same optical properties (absorption and photoluminescence) as HQ powder.
