Interleukin‐39 is a Prognostic Biomarker and Therapy Target for Sepsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sepsis triggers a significant increase in IL‐39 production, with circulating levels markedly elevated and positively correlated with disease severity and poor clinical prognosis in sepsis patients. Mechanistically, macrophage‐derived IL‐39 activates the GP130 signaling pathway via a ligand‐receptor interaction, thereby fueling the pro‐inflammatory ...

EFEITO DA FARINHA DA CASCA DE MARACUJÁ NO PESO E NO ÍNDICE GLICÊMICO DE RATOS

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Nutrição Esportiva, 2014
The fiber intake is an alternative to weight control. The objective of this experiment was to determine the effect of pectin, present in passion fruit peel, on weight change and glucose. Have been used 35 male Wistar rats divided into four groups.

Hyper-reduction for parametrized transport dominated problems via adaptive reduced meshes

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations and Applications
Abstract We propose an efficient residual minimization technique for the nonlinear model-order reduction of parameterized hyperbolic partial differential equations. Our nonlinear approximation space is spanned by snapshots functions over spatial transformations, and we compute our reduced approximation via residual minimization.

TNAP and PHOSPHO1 Function Synergistically to Afford Critical Control Over the Mineralization of the Postnatal Murine Skeleton

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Biomineralization underpins skeletal development, yet its molecular control remains incompletely understood. Using a novel murine knockout model, this study reveals the essential and complementary roles of PHOSPHO1 and TNAP in postnatal skeletal development.

Raman Analysis of RNA Nucleotide Strands From SARS‐CoV‐2 Variants and Subvariants: A Step Forward in the Definition of “Raman Genome”

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Main Raman signals in RNA, related to helical backbone, ribofuranose ring, and nitrogenous bases, are affected by secondary structures that cause hyperchromic effects and significantly alter the Raman intensity. ABSTRACT Raman spectra of RNA nucleotide strands extracted from 20 SARS‐CoV‐2 strains, including the original Japanese isolate, Alpha, Beta ...

Computational Homogenization in 3D Magnetostatics using E3C Hyper-Reduction

open access: yes
The recently published hyper-reduction method "Empirically Corrected Cluster Cubature" (E3C) is for the first time applied in three dimensions (here magnetostatics). The method is verified to give accurate results even for a small number of integration points, such as 15 for 3D microstructure simulations.

SIRT5‐Mediated Desuccinylation of ACAA2 Protects Against Calcium Oxalate‐Induced Kidney Injury by Regulating Fatty Acid Oxidation to Suppress Mitochondrial Oxidative Injury and Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The SIRT5/ACAA2 axis maintains lipid metabolic homeostasis in RTECs by promoting ACAA2 desuccinylation and preserving its stability and enzymatic activity, thereby sustaining FAO and limiting PUFA and PUFA‐containing phospholipid accumulation. Under CaOx stress, SIRT5 downregulation impairs FAO, promotes oxidative stress and ferroptosis, and enhances ...
