On Different Strategies for Eliminating Redundant Actions from Plans

open access: yes, 2014
Satisficing planning engines are often able to generate plans in a reasonable time, however, plans are often far from optimal. Such plans often contain a high number of redundant actions, that are actions, which can be removed without affecting the ...

Intrinsic chiroptical responsivity in self‐powered organic photodiodes for polarization‐tunable optical convolution

open access: yesInfoMat, EarlyView.
Self‐powered chiral organic photodiodes function as polarization‐sensitive convolutional filters for circularly polarized light‐driven optical convolutional neural networks. This conceptually innovative architecture enables dynamic weight modulation, bias‐free operation, and exceptional noise resilience, boosting feature extraction fidelity from 0.15 ...

Experimental results of sensor based planning for hyper-redundant manipulators

open access: yes, 1993
: This paper presents a dual-resolution local sensor based planning method for hyper-redundant robot mechanisms. Two classes of sensor feedback control methods, working at di erent sampling rates and di erent spatial resolutions, are considered: full ...

Drought Risk in Mango and Avocado Orchards: Insights Into Plant Water Relations and Irrigation‐Related Agronomic Solutions

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Climate change is making water availability more uncertain, with growing consequences for the productivity and long‐term sustainability of tropical and subtropical fruit orchards. Mangifera indica L. and Persea americana Mill. both require large amounts of water to sustain growth and productivity.

Bayesian Model Averaging in Causal Instrumental Variable Models

open access: yesJournal of Applied Econometrics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Instrumental variables are a popular tool to infer causal effects under unobserved confounding, but choosing suitable instruments is challenging in practice. We propose gIVBMA, a Bayesian model averaging procedure that addresses this challenge by averaging across different sets of instrumental variables and covariates in a structural equation ...

A fractional perspective on the trajectory control of redundant and hyper-redundant robot manipulators

open access: yes
The manuscript develops a new perspective for studying the trajectory control of planar manipulators using the Moore–Penrose pseudoinverse. Different mechanical structures are compared, namely redundant and hyper-redundant robots.

Variability of the Climate in Athens‐Greece Over the Last 165 Years of the Period 1858–2023: An Assessment Based on Thornthwaite's Climate Classification and Relevant Indices

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 46, Issue 7, 15 June 2026.
Athens' climate according to Thorthwaite is stable despite warming trends. Athens' climate remains semi‐arid and mesothermal over 165 years. Strong increases in evapotranspiration and stable precipitation were found. Soil water storage capacity affects water deficits but not aridity type.
