Heterologous carriers in the anamnestic antihapten response [PDF]

open access: yes, 1968
Anamnestic antihapten responses were obtained to trinitrophenyl (TNP) when rabbits sensitized to trinitrophenyl-hemocyanin (TNP-KLH) were challenged with TNP-heterologous protein conjugates.

Neutrophils are required for both the sensitization and elicitation phase of contact hypersensitivity

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Medicine, 2015
Weber et al. report that neutrophils are required for both the sensitization and elicitation phase of contact hypersensitivity. Their results identify a novel role for neutrophils in shaping the adaptive immune response.

Targeting Antigen‐Presenting Cells to Enhance the Tumor‐Spleen Immunity Cycle through Liposome‐Neoantigen Vaccine

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
LNPsD18, a cationic liposome that enhances antigen‐presenting cell uptake in the spleen and tumor without targeting ligands is developed. Co‐delivering neoantigens and a TLR9 agonist significantly improve DC activation, tumor immunity, and survival in liver and colorectal cancer models, demonstrating the importance of dual‐site APC targeting for cancer

Guideline for the diagnosis of drug hypersensitivity reactions

open access: yesAllergo Journal International, 2015
Drug hypersensitivity reactions are unpredictable adverse drug reactions. They manifest either within 1–6 h following drug intake (immediate reactions) with mild to life-threatening symptoms of anaphylaxis, or several hours to days later (delayed ...

Synergistic Modulating of Mitochondrial Transfer and Immune Microenvironment to Attenuate Discogenic Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Gallic acid (GA) and copper ions self‐assemble to form nanoparticles, which are then modified with mitochondrial targeting peptides and gap junction modulator. These nanoparticles scavenge mitochondrial reactive oxygen species to induce M2 polarization and enhance intercellular mitochondrial transfer.

Preserved cellular immunity in smoldering acute leukemia [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976
"Smoldering acute leukemia", a variant of acute myelogenous leukemia, has been recognized with frequent incidence in recent years. This is chracterized by benign clinical course, poor physical findings, leukopenia and mild anemia in the ...

Hypersensitivity to pyrazolones [PDF]

open access: yesThorax, 2000
To the allergologist, hypersensitivity to drugs means immunological drug reactions as classified in the Gell and Coombs system. To others, it may also include non-dose related adverse drug reactions including the non-immune mediated idiosyncratic drug reactions (type B).

Hypothalamus Regulates Anabolic Metabolism of Articular Cartilage Superficial Chondrocytes through PGE2 Skeletal Interoception

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hypothalamus sympathetic norepinephrine inhibits regeneration of articular cartilage. Mechanical loading on bone during animal activity elevates PGE2 skeletal interoception to promote an anabolic renewal of the superficial membrane by downregulation of norepinephrine for articular cartilage proper thickness and integrity.

A narrative review of psychological theories of post‐traumatic stress disorder, voice hearing, and other psychotic symptoms

open access: yesClinical Psychology &Psychotherapy, Volume 29, Issue 6, Page 1791-1811, November/December 2022., 2022
Abstract Background Most voice hearers report childhood trauma. Many voice hearers report comorbid post‐traumatic stress symptoms and that the content of their voices (auditory verbal hallucinations) is directly (voices repeat phrases spoken by perpetrators) or indirectly (voice content and trauma is thematically similar) related to their trauma.
