Cytogenetic and Molecular Findings in Hydrops‐Related Mirror Syndrome

open access: yesPrenatal Diagnosis, Volume 46, Issue 11, Page 1752-1759, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective Mirror syndrome is a rare, life‐threatening condition in which maternal fluid overload mirrors fetal hydrops. Data on genetic findings in affected pregnancies are limited. We compared genetic diagnoses in hydrops cases with and without mirror syndrome.

Untreated Hair Dye Effluents Enter the Environment: Are They a Threat to Human Health?

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, Volume 41, Issue 10, Page 998-1010, October 2026.
ABSTRACT The effluents generated during the process of hair dyeing exhibit a complex composition, comprising chemical compounds with varying toxicity levels. While the adverse impact of hair dyes on human health is acknowledged, there is a notable absence of studies addressing the toxicity associated with effluents produced during these activities. The

ZNF865 (BLST) a Novel Regulator of DNA Damage and Cell Senescence in Back Pain

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 10, October 2026.
ZNF865 (BLST) has previously been classified as part of the “unknome”, but here in the context of back pain, we demonstrate the first functional characterization of ZNF865. We demonstrate that it regulates genomic stability and subsequent senescence, and that downregulation in the intervertebral disc leads to pain behavior in rodent models.

A Swedish Population‐Based Study Found That Muscle Hypertonia in Children With Cerebral Palsy Varied by Age, Subtype, Functional Level, and Muscle Group

open access: yesActa Paediatrica, Volume 115, Issue 10, Page 2261-2268, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim We examined how lower limb muscle tone was related to age, sex, Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) level, and the cerebral palsy (CP) subtype in Swedish children with CP. Methods This registry‐based cohort study from 2023 to 2024 used data on all 3 216 children aged 1–15 from the Swedish follow‐up program and national CP ...

The benefits of multidisciplinary collaboration in the successful management of two complex feline cases

open access: yesAustralian Veterinary Journal, Volume 104, Issue 10, Page 710-718, October 2026.
Despite a frequent misconception that behavioural concerns are diagnoses of exclusion, medical conditions and behavioural disorders are frequently inter‐related. In human medicine, the ‘multidisciplinary team’ approach (MDTA) is considered the most efficacious way of managing patients with complex and chronic health conditions.
