ABSTRACT Injectable antimicrobials with documented prolonged dosing intervals (> 48 h) for use in rhesus macaques are sparse. The objective of our study was to assess the pharmacokinetics, urine excretion, and effects on gut microbiome and resistome of intramuscular administered long‐acting formulation of ampicillin (Albipen LA) in macaques.

Microstructure and Mechanical Characterization of Rice Husks from the Tolima Region of Colombia
The under-utilization of rice husk, a milling by-product, demands attention due to its widespread disposal and limited usage. This research aims to assess the physical properties and mechanical behavior of three rice husk varieties (F 2000, Orizyca, and ...

Some Neuron-Hypodermis Relationships in the Parasitic Nematode Trichurus myocastoris Enigk.
The association of neurons and hypodermal cells in longitudinal nerve chords and in interchordal positions (perhaps dorso-ventral commissures) in the body wall of Trichuris myocastoris Enigk has been examined with the electron microscope. Nerve chords are composed of several groups of neurons separated by processes of hypodermal cells; such groups may ...

Mechanical Strength: An Unrecognised Target in the Genetic Improvement of Crops
ABSTRACT Leaf angle (LA) is a crucial agronomic trait influencing planting density and crop yield. Previous research highlighted the importance of cellular variations in the ligular region for determining LA, but the underlying regulatory mechanisms remain unclear.

The study evaluated different treatments for calcaneal tendinopathy in rats, focusing on the gastrocnemius muscle. Photobiomodulation (PBM), advanced platelet‐rich fibrin (A‐PRF), and their combination were tested. Treated animals showed improved muscle strength between 7 and 21 days, but without significant recovery of muscle fibers.

Abstract Introduction Juvenile coral reef fish face an initial predation‐induced mortality bottleneck with mortality exceeding 60% within 48 hours of settlement. This intense predation, exacerbated by anthropogenic stressors, limits recruitment and contributes to global declines of reef fish populations. Post‐Larval Capture, Culture, and Release (PCCR),

Potential Roles of Peroxidases in Caenorhabditis Elegans Innate Immunity [PDF]
The production of ROS (reactive oxygen species) in response to pathogen detection is a rapid, nonspecific response that is evolutionarily conserved from nematodes to humans. ROS serve as direct and indirect effectors of innate and adaptive immunity.
