[The hypoglycemic effect of clausenacoumarine].
Yao xue xue bao = Acta pharmaceutica Sinica, 1990Clausenacoumarine is a compound isolated from the leaves of Clausena lansium (Lour.) Skeels which grows widely in South China. The studies show that clausenacoumarine can lower blood glucose level in normal mice and alloxan diabetic mice at 200 mg/kg.d for three days orally, and antagonize the elevation of blood glucose caused by injecting adrenaline ...

Potentiation of hypoglycemic effect of chlorpropamide and phenfromin by halofenate
Diabetes, 1977The potentiation of oral hypoglycemic drugs by the antilipemic agent halofenate is reported. Forty-seven diabetic patients were treated for 48 weeks with halofenate, clofibrate, or placebo. Five patients in the halofenate group were taking phenformin plus either chlorpropamide or tolbutamide. Their average initial fasting plasma glucose was 160 mg./dl.

The hypoglycemic effect of "Hipogalegin".
Revue roumaine de physiologie (Bucharest, Romania : 1990), 1992In alloxan-induced diabetes in rats a marked increase in fasting glycemia was seen. The administration of "Hipogalegin" (0.45 g/kg b.w.; for one administration) led to a marked decrease of the glycemia in fasted diabetic animals: 40% of the diabetic animals subjected to this treatment survived and continued to survive even on the 94th day after ...

The hypoglycemic effect of chloroquine.
The Journal of the Association of Physicians of India, 1997Ten persons were studied to observe the effect of intravenous administration of chloroquine on serum glucose level. Ten healthy individuals were given 800 mg of chloroquine in three hours infusion. There was a significant (p = 0.001) fall of 25.86 per cent of initial blood glucose level in test group, while it was only 10.47 per cent in control group ...
