This study investigated patients with craniopharyngioma and germ cell tumor to assess the impact of apathy on their neurocognitive, social cognitive, and social functions. Apathy was observed in 11 (45.8%) of 24 patients, and cognitive and social functions may be more impaired in patients with apathy.

An inflammatory response occurs in the hippocampus as a part of systemic inflammation. Significant changes take place in the structure and composition of lipids, proteins and nucleic acids during the inflammatory response.
