The first Toll receptor from the triangle-shell pearl mussel Hyriopsis cumingii

Fish & Shellfish Immunology, 2013
Toll receptor was first discovered in Drosophila and has an important function in the innate immunity of invertebrates. In this study, the Toll receptor HcToll1 from Hyriopsis cumingii with a full length of 3810 bp consisting of a 3687 bp ORF that encodes a total of 1228 amino acids protein was selected for further study.

The role of the Steroidogenesis-Associated gene cyp11a in regulating gonadal development in Hyriopsis cumingii

General and Comparative Endocrinology
The Cyp11a gene is essential for steroid hormone synthesis, which is closely associated with gonadal development. To explore the role of Cyp11a in the gonadal development of Hyriopsis cumingii, we cloned the 2951 bp H. cumingii Cyp11a gene (Hccyp11a), which includes a 2376 bp open reading frame (ORF) encoding 791 amino acids.

[Pharmacological studies on extracts from flesh of Cridtaria plecata and Hyriopsis cumingii].

Zhong yao cai = Zhongyaocai = Journal of Chinese medicinal materials, 2003
Adiminstration of extracts from flesh of Cridtaria plecata Lea and Hyriopsis cumingii Lea (EFCH), in 3.6 g/kg and 1.8 g/kg i.g for 7 days, can stimulate macrophage phagcytoic function and humoral immunolgical response to cook's RBC in mice. EFCH 3.6 g/kg i.g for 7 days, inhibite allergic reaction IV induced by 2,4-Dinitroclorobenzne.

Correlation between Microstructure and Failure Mechanism of Hyriopsis cumingii Shell Structure

Journal of Bionic Engineering, 2019
In nature, shells exhibit remarkable high toughness and impact resistance to the external load despite their brittle main constituent and simple hierarchical structure. In this work, the structure of the mussel shell Hyriopsis cumingii is analyzed by scanning electron microscope and atomic force microscope, and the macro/micro compression and impact ...

Evaluation of laser labeling on growth and survival of the freshwater pearl mussel, Hyriopsis cumingii

Aquaculture International, 2011
Laser labeling techniques have been developed for breeding programs in aquatic organisms through this study. This study assessed their use in Hyriopsis cumingii, an important Chinese freshwater pearl mussel. In preliminary studies, H. cumingii juveniles between 55 and 95 days old were labeled by a laser engraving machine.

Transcriptomic insights into the regulatory mechanisms of salinity stress response in Hyriopsis cumingii

Freshwater salinization has become an increasing threat to the culture of the freshwater pearl mussel Hyriopsis cumingii. To evaluate its physiological tolerance and regulatory responses to salinity stress, mussels were exposed to 0, 2, 4 and 6‰ salinity, and changes in survival, osmotic regulation, antioxidant capacity, energy metabolism, histology ...

Molecular characterization and transcriptional regulation between PPAR and CPT1 in freshwater bivalve Hyriopsis cumingii

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules
Peroxisome proliferator activated receptors (PPARs) exert their roles in lipid metabolism and adaptive immunity by transactivating carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1 (CPT1). However, it remains unclear whether the PPAR-CPT1 signaling pathway exists in mollusks that only carry out innate immunity.
